✨ A look inside Pure Prep: Kindergarten Readiness! ✨
Building confident, connected, and kindergarten-ready kids—one mindful moment at a time. 💚
Our Pure Prep friends have been learning, growing, and having so much fun as they prepare for this exciting next chapter!
Together we’ve:
🫧 Practiced calming our minds and bodies with bubble breaths.
📚 Read Back to School with Mac by a local author and followed Mac’s adventures as he learned all about starting kindergarten.
🎨 Created our own Feelings Families while exploring different emotions and healthy ways to express them.
🤝 Practiced working cooperatively, taking turns, solving problems together, and using our voices to advocate for our needs.
💛 Learned about body boundaries, personal space, and respecting ourselves and others.
Kindergarten readiness is about so much more than academics. It’s about building confidence, emotional awareness, self-regulation, friendships, communication skills, and independence—creating a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
We’re so proud of the growth, kindness, and confidence each child has shown. These moments are just a glimpse of all the fun and learning we’ve shared together, and we can’t wait to see our little learners shine in kindergarten! 🌟🍎#southshorema #hanoverma #therapistsofinstagram

Today is National Author’s Day! Where would we be without authors? (And what would we shelve?)

We love authors, and especially want to celebrate our local authors who have been such an important part of Ten Trees Books from the very beginning, from hosting author events, story times, book signings, and even joining our Book Brigade to help move us across the street to our new location!

Indie bookstores and authors go hand in hand. Celebrate National Author’s Day by picking up a favorite or discovering someone new.

Thank you Christine Carlucci Evans, @mindfulminispublishing for a wonderful storytime!

Christine read her books “The Worry Cloud” and “Breathe In, Breathe Out, It Will All Work Out”. A heartwarming, interactive series created to help little ones understand their worries and manage them in a meaningful way. By building a safe space for them to voice their fears and anxieties, the book also allows parents and caregivers to understand how to help them.

We have copies of both in store if you missed out.

Join us for story time with local author Christine Evans, author of The Worry Cloud and Breathe In, Breather Out, It’ll All Work Out.

Do you have a worry, big or small? The Worry Cloud is here to take it away — somewhere far, somewhere safe. Breathe in deeply, breathe out slow, and watch your worries go go go.

Christine’s newest book, ‘Breathe in, Breathe Out. It’ll All Work Out’ is an enchanting addition to the Worry Cloud collection, which gently guides children through moments of difficulty, teaching them about emotional regulation, resilience, and hope. A beautiful, lyrical story assures children that ‘It’ll all work out,’ echoing a reminder of love, courage, and the magic of breath-work. It serves as a wonderful resource for parents and caregivers seeking to support children in navigating everyday challenges.

Tickets for this event are free, but we ask that all guests register in advance as we have limited spots available. Sign up on our eventbrite.

Tag him if he needs this book too 😂

I absolutely LOVE @minfulminispublishing Christine does an incredible job with her books, and I'm an emotional wellness coach, former parenting coach, and her books will always have a place on my shelf!

I read this book ONCE with my kids. And you know what we say every single day in my home?
"Breath in, breath out. It'll all work out."

For such a short book, it holds a tremendous impact. When my kids are frustrated, we say "Breath in, breath out, it'll all work out" When I'm not feeling good or when my husband is on edge, guess who tells US to "Breath in, Breath out, it'll all work out"? Our kids.

It also helps that the author Christine has worked to get this put into a song! My 6-year-old has been listening to it on repeat. AT 6 YEARS OLD, this kid is calming his nervous system. When he's angry, frustrated, sad, or let down. He uses this phrase and feeling a lot more stable (which is CRAZY for a 6-year-old, right!?)

Anyway, it's really great for the entire family, and you should go check it out! Go to their IG @mindfulminispublishing, click the link, order the book, and watch everyone in the family be better off for it!

She also has another really incredible one called the worry cloud, If you have kids that get worried, they're scared of the dark, they're anxious, they have a morbid imagination and scare themselves (If you know you know) whatever it is, this book helps SOOO much.

My anxious child has become less anxious because he's got an incredible book that helps him give his worries to the worry cloud!

Anyway, do it. It's good for the mind, heart, and soul!

And if you want to learn more cool ways to support your emotional health, come follow me. This is what I'm all about!!

Our Balloon Hugs made their event debut today; and we were so honored to be a part of it. A huge thank you to @adventurous_playground for including us ✨ This event was focused on various ways to nurture social-emotional growth for children and families. There has been such a big leap (compared to when I was a child) in mental health support for children. And we LOVE to see it.
•
First, I sat in on a reading with Christine from @mindfulminispublishing and ugh, my heart. Her two children’s books - Worry Cloud and ‘Breathe In, Breathe Out. It’ll All Work Out.’ - made explaining big feelings to children so simple. There’s even an interactive piece with a sing a long at the end - which is the best way to reach our littles. And although both books are targeted to children; every adult in the room felt the words from her books. And maybe even needed those words too 🥹 Thank you so much, Christine 🫶🏻
•
Second, I met the friendliest representatives from ABA Centers of America. They offer a multitude of amazing, meaningful resources in supporting children and families with Autism. 🧩💚
•
And at the end of the event; we gave out our Balloon Hugs. These aren’t, “just balloons,” they are hugs. And my favorite part is when people are thinking of the message they want. Because in that moment, you know it’s all heart. And that’s the whole purpose. A small way to spread kindness 💖 Featuring my fave @hulkenbag ✨

☁️💛 Thanks to @mindfulminispublishing , my calm corner just got a major upgrade!

The “Worry Cloud” and “It’ll All Work Out” books by Christine Carlucci Evans and Morgan Huff are the perfect duo for helping little ones (think PreK- 1st) manage big feelings — especially worries about starting school, being away from family, or trying something new.

📚 These short, rhyming, and repetitive books are just right for your youngest learners, easy to follow and soothing to read.
🎶 And ....they come with a song! (Not a singer? Me either! There’s a QR code with the music and lyrics, and you can also find it on Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube. Just hit play!!)

✨ This set is ideal for:
– Introducing calm corners
– Class meetings and small group sessions (use the cloud as a talking piece!)
– Individual sessions

Incorporate the worry cloud activity as a routine, where students share a worry and tuck it inside the softest cloud you've ever felt, giving their feelings a safe place to land. 🌧➡️☀️

Wonderful for educators, counselors, or parents who are looking to build emotional regulation routines that really connect. 💛
