Remembering Softness: An Ayurvedic Day Immersion for Women

📆 Sunday 22 November, 10AM-4PM

📍 Be Hive Cape Winelands, Boschendal Farm, Franschhoek, SA

🎟️ R1,350

🙏 With @ayurveda_with_claudiabatschari and Tharien Pieterse

Beneath an old oak humming with bees, with mountains rising on every side, there is a place where the mind can rest, the body can soften, and the soul can remember what it needs.

Remembering Softness is made of simple things: warm oil on skin, gentle movement and breath flowing through the body; nourishing food, the Earth underfoot.

You’ll have space to pause, to listen more closely to your body’s own wisdom and to sit in circle with women who listen, witness and remind you that you don’t have to carry everything alone. Ayurveda gives the day its shape, offering embodied practices to explore the elements and your own natural rhythm.

You don’t need any experience with Ayurveda or yoga. Just come as you are, with comfortable clothing, and be willing to slow down.

Includes: morning oiling ritual, yoga and element-based movement, circle of women, Ayurvedic teachings, seasonal forest-to-fork lunch and herbal teas

When women come together in spaciousness, nature and softness, moving to their own internal time, something magical happens…
Space opens to hear herself, to hear the whispers of her body which she so often neglects and doesn’t really inhabit due to attending to all the information coming at her and all the rushing we ask from her body and mind.

So when we retreat, we can allow things to surface, it might be pain, sadness, memories…
and through tending to ourselves and being in a group holding each other, healing can take place, acceptance and the inner wisdom can be felt and heard and most important our intuition can come alive again and with it a deep inner knowing which gets often almost crushed by all the external noise and voices.

Our next ‘Remembering Softness Retreat will be from the 18 - 21 of February 2027 at the Wildpod at Bodhi Khaya

Remembering Softness Retreat @bodhikhaya

There are so many beautiful retreats.

Places to rest.
To slow down.
To reconnect.

What we hope makes ‘Remembering Softness’ different is that it isn’t simply about taking time away.

It’s about returning home with a different relationship to yourself.

For me, Ayurveda has never been a list of rules or another wellness practice to master.
It has always been a way of listening.
Listening to the subtle language of the body.
To the seasons we move through as women.
To the places where we’ve been holding too much for too long.

Together with Tharien @mindfulmotioncommunity
we’ll spend four days at the beautiful Wild Pod at Bodhi Khaya, exploring Ayurveda, embodied movement, nourishing food, sauna, swimming, women’s circles, silence, nature and the simple practice of remembering the wisdom that has always lived within us.

If, as you watched this reel, something quietly whispered “I need this,” perhaps that’s worth listening to.

Take a little time to reconnect.

Life has a way of pulling us in every direction. Mindful Motion offers a space to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with yourself through mindful movement, yoga and wellness practices.

Whether you’re a regular practitioner or simply curious to try something new, the welcoming classes and workshops are designed to meet you where you are. It’s less about perfect poses and more about creating space to move, restore and find balance.

If you’re visiting McGregor, adding a mindful practice to your stay is a wonderful way to experience the village’s slower rhythm.

What would it feel like to stop holding everything so tightly?

To step away from the constant doing.
To be nourished by warm Ayurvedic meals.
To move gently.
To breathe deeply.
To sit with other women beneath open sky and remember the softness that still lives inside you.

Remembering Softness is a 3-day Ayurvedic retreat for women, held from 10 to 13 September in the quiet beauty of Bodhi Khaya near Stanford.

Guided by Claudia Batschari and Tharien Pieterse, this retreat weaves together Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, breathwork, creative practice, sauna sessions, nature immersion and shared women’s space.

Set within the Wild Pod, surrounded by forest, water and open sky, this is a space to slow down, listen inward and return to your body’s natural rhythm.

For women at all stages of life.

10 to 13 September

COME CLEANSE WITH ME!

It is time again, subtly the seasons are changing.

I personally can feel it in my bones, my joints feel a bit sticky, achy and stiff when I get up.. a sign of an accumulation of toxins, too much sugar - leading to inflammation and perhaps not enough good fats and/or simply a lot of dryness after a long hot and dry summer.

So let’s reset, tend to our bodies, pause, rejuvenate and step away from overindulgence.
Get back to basics, a healing, nourishing mono diet of moong beans, rice and vegetables for a week, add 3 days before this to already get off alcohol, sugar, gluten and coffee, and add another 4 days for the transition period where you still want to eat as healthy as possible to let your body adjust slowly. Perhaps you won’t even go back to coffee..

Be open minded and curious and come with me and simplify for a bit!!

WHEN:
March 23 - 29
Investment: R1200 / Euro85
Online from the comfort of your home

Our Ayurvedic Skin Care workshop was a wonderful little retreat into caring for ourselves 🪷
A different type of spa so to speak, where beauty and wellbeing comes from the inside.
Everything we put onto our skin was also eatable.
We remembered beauty rituals from our grandmothers and that selfcare is a delicious inside job and doesn’t always need to be outsourced.
In fact it is something we women always did in community and in a fun way, offering- and receiving touch and care …🤍💫

Thank you Tharien @mindfulmotioncommunity for being such a wonderful co-facilitator and thank you to everyone who joined, we had a full house 🌸

Yesterday I took my bike out of town, following a track I’d never been on before, heading toward the mountains that separate McGregor from Greyton.

I love that feeling of riding into the unknown, the quiet thrill of discovery, the earth opening up to you.

First thing this morning, I was treated to the most delicious restorative yoga class at the @mcgregor_wisdom_school with @Markchipps and Tharien of @mindfulmotioncommunity complete with tuning forks & Tibetan bowls to help the body release & remember. Pure heaven. Thank you both for such a gift 💗💗💗

I also happened to meet @naluthando there.
@aletta_lintvelt recommended her to me just last night. She’s doing incredible work with the land and the women. So beautiful, so needed.

The rest of the day unfolded in perfect McGregor style ~ meeting a few more locals, hearing stories, reading (my favourite) & lazing by the pool.
I had my first swim of the summer…don’t judge me, I’m a cold-water coward (& Cape Town seas are frikken freeeezing), but the pool here @temenosinmcgregor felt absolutely delicious.

And then, the highlight of all highlights, I was adopted by two cats 😻
A cute grey one who reminds me of Puddha (the cat who kept me company years ago at The Yoga Connection in Pretoria) … this one has an adorable squint. And a calico-tortoiseshell queen who picked me up last night, walked me home, curled up in bed on top of me, purrrrring a million miles a minute. She found me again today after a little tearful moment in one of the sanctuaries.

The day ended with another lekker sunset bike ride complete with killer view over magical McGregor 🥹

Only one more day left in this gentle place and honestly, I could use a lot more of this peaceful, letting-go presence
🌝 🐈‍⬛✨

This weekend was dedicated to going inwards and creating space for cleansing, healing and releasing.
A nurturing and connecting Sweat Lodge facilitated by @valerie.llopis followed by a day of quiet and reflection in the gardens of @temenosinmcgregor allowed me to reconnect with my own compass and path. Thankful to the land and beautiful beings that were part of this weekend’s ceremony 💛🙏🌿🦋
