We did some things in 2025. Let’s recap:

✅ We toured again! This time we headed eastward stopping by Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi; our longest trip to date! People in each of these respective states are wearing Genuine Mustard t-shirts as we speak. Ian and Matthew made a trip to Seattle for a duo show as well. 🏙️
✅ We performed for protests for worker’s rights in Lafayette with the help of @loveyourneighborgroup and friends. We love our neighbors and we love you! ❤️😊
✅ “Fool Me Twice” Our first ever song as a band was released this year on October 20 in @friendshouserecords 's compilation album, “our friend’s house… vol. 3”! Rumors say people are really diggin’ the song… 🎸 Special thanks to @pipkins.alex for doing sax and @cartercaudio for compiling. 🏠
✅ Matthew had the honor of performing a solo act for @blackpotfest , showcasing many Genuine Mustard songs in a more intimate setting.
✅ This is our first full year having @shantler.ramon in the band! Everyone give him a big round of applause 👏👏👏

Each passing day with this band, I’m reminded of how lucky and fortunate I am to perform with them and call them my friends. People are products of their environment: always born under different circumstances and have different obstacles to overcome throughout their entire life. I find that on a basic human necessity level, I write a lot of my songs seeking solace and relief in things happening in a chaotic world, whether they are within or outside my control.

I believe the trajectory of people’s lives are often outside of their control, so when positive outcomes reveal themselves in dire times, I’m thankful and feel lucky that I can witness these things and perform music through shared expression of my bandmates Charlie, Ian, and Shantler. Music isn’t a cure-all, but the least we can do is figure out a way to connect with people while playin’ some noisy rock n’ roll and having a good time together. We’ve had our fair share of good and bad shows, but every time we’ve played, we felt the love of our listeners and it encourages us to develop our musicianship.

We’re looking forward to 2026 :)
Love y’all 💛 - Matt
