The Showdown at the Hoedown ‼️🤠

Every genuine movement begins humbly, with someone willing to lead.

@maxdollard and the community he’s growing with @showdowntysons have done precisely that, restoring something ancient in the heart of modern culture. In an age that mistakes attention for connection, this revival of dance calls men and women back to what is real.

Dance is as old as firelight. It is humanity’s first language of unity, a wordless prayer between strength and grace. When a man steps forward with steadiness and a woman responds with trust, both take part in something virtuous: the renewal of order, reverence, and authentic human connection.

To dance requires courage and humility together (whether you’re good at it or not). It invites each person to move with purpose, to encounter another through presence rather than words, and to remember what communion feels like.

We are grateful for this collaboration with @showdowntysons because it reflects the very heart of our mission: to rebuild authentic community through beauty, joy, and shared human experience. In a city that often forgets its soul, this is the kind of movement that brings it back to the basics of humanity.

Couldn’t have asked for a better summer night than Strawberry Soirée. 🍓✨ Here’s to fall and only looking back when the camera roll’s got banger pics reminding us of one of the best chapters we lived together.

More Sangria y Salsa Outtakes… 🎬

The crowd was wild, the selfies were cute and bold, the spins were dramatic. A cookie was eaten (or maybe 100). A heart was broken. Then Sangria fixed that heart. Then that heart sobered up and needed more Sangria. Makes sense.

But the story isn’t over… the next chapter of DSC drops soon. Save the date: November 8th.

Choose your fighter: Salsa Edition 🎮🔥

🕺 JUDE
✨ Special Move: Cross-body lead so smooth it comes with a TSA pre-check.
💫 Fatality: Spins you ‘til you forget your own name.
❌ Weakness: None. Man is the clave.

💃 TARA
✨ Special Move: Hair whip that causes permanent memory loss.
💫 Fatality: Side step so lethal it cancels your basic step forever.
❌ Weakness: Only dances with mortals when she feels generous.

🍷 Here’s the kicker: they slay on the floor and they teach. Which means you walk into Sangria y Salsa looking like a background extra and walk out feeling like the final boss. Nobody else is giving you salsa lessons at this level while making you laugh, sweat, and question your life choices all at once.

🙌 Massive props to Jude & Tara for turning our crowd into dancers instead of wallflowers. Legends.

To the 152 unread text messages in my phone, the 12 google calendar invites I haven’t accepted, the wonderful women who said “you’re really a great guy but…”, to Chris Adams who refuses to tan with me on the beach this weekend in the DR, to my third grade teacher who corrected my pronunciation of “mature” to “Matooer” and said “Can you go to the bathroom? Or MAY you go to the bathroom?” when asking for a hall pass, to the bartender at Velocity Wings in Manassas who called me and said I left my credit card at the bar at 3 AM in 2022, to my plug in college who’s got a 15 year sentence now, just know that every now and then, I think of you, and hold you dear to my heart.

If you don’t end up with a kiss at the end of the night, did you even attend a DSC event?? The leaves are changing, pumpkin spice lattes are so back, and pretty soon you’re gonna be like, “Wait, why am I still single again?”

And gurl… instead of cuddling a pumpkin spice latte and curling up in bed by 8 to read the book “When It’s Time to Become a Nun”, you could be twirling in heels, stealing someone’s flannel, and texting your group chat “he might actually be cute?? All he talks about is the gym though..” before the night’s even over.

DSC events = where your fall situationship actually begins.

Some friendships feel like they were meant to happen. I met @angelique_jagmac and @cameron1saunders at DC Social Collective’s Crooner Christmas Ball at Hotel Heron last year, right after they got engaged on the rooftop while touring the venue for their wedding. Since then we have shared countless nights of music, dancing, and community, and their support has meant the world to me.

Angelique, part of the amazing @jagmacmusic family, and Cameron are not just guests at our events. They have become dear friends. Although Cameron could not make it to the event this weekend, we danced in honor of him. I love them both 💙💙 SO excited to celebrate their wedding in the Dominican Republic this weekend!!

Sangria y Salsa shattered every record we’ve ever set.

645 people stormed The Winery at Bull Run and turned it into the DMV’s largest Latin dance floor for 2025.
No seriously we checked the stats… this was the largest Latin dance event in Virginia this year.

Time to pat ourselves on the backs like we learned in 2nd grade… cause that’s what led us here.

Production barn? Stuffed wall-to-wall.
Hundreds learning from salsa assassins @judemzel & @xoxo_tara.
Honestly probably the only duo in Northern Virginia who could make that crowd move like pros in under an hour. Serious performers fr.

Then the @mrosadomusic lit up the night.
Live set so electric it dragged 300 dancers outside and packed the entire vineyard.

And just when you thought the night peaked…
@djsensualsoundz pulled up with the most unhinged hype energy of all time.
The man says he’s a DJ (correct) but he’s also an actual cartoon character that escaped into real life.
He’ll scream your name, dance with your girl, and post the same IG story 15 times with each one hitting just like the first. Even WE weren’t ready, but we were. We prepped since elementary school for this.

Every corner of the winery = flooded.
Every glass of sangria = emptied.
Every body = moving.

An absolute MADHOUSE and CULTURAL RESET that attracted half of Centreville and Manassas.

MAD HYPE MAN🫡
