October remembers what I
buried.
He sees me through the
dark.
He knows what lives and breathes inside my hollow
heart.
.
You’ll never find it
beneath the soil and
muck.
The broken pieces of a soul that’s always out of
luck.

I wrote this piece for the @promptvaultpoetry prompt line “October remembers what I buried”. I also used our Wednesday prompt “Hollow/s”. I was honored to share this week with @ellie.writes2 We are beyond grateful for everyone who wrote to our prompt this week. Thank you all for inspiring me.

Predator and prey
are never far away.
Some may say
what lies beneath
deep eyes of lilac-grey
is tenderness
that knows lonely hearts betrayed.
But even innocence can bare their fangs
from swallowing all the pain
Howling at the world’s disdain
to purge their souls
in blood-red rain.

I wrote this piece inspired by the prompts by @wild_ink_and_sunflowers and @wolvesandwildflowerspoetry “Predator”and “Lilac”. Thank you both for inspiring me.

Before the rise of the seventh moon
when the world became still.
Before the wolves bared their fangs
in the lavender traced darkness
of the Patagonia hills.

We ran into the canyons
where the red-orange bats hang.

We were part of the desert
and the wind knew our names.

And you promised me
before the scorching desert sun
took our bodies,
we’d watch the dark clouds swallow the horizon.
Listening to the brooding lightning
sky’s refrain.
Knowing chaos would be our fortress
as we became the purple rain.

I wrote this story-poem for the @wild_ink_and_sunflowers and @wolvesandwildflowerspoetry prompts “Fang and Lavender” Thank you for inspiring me.

An ode to all the forgotten gods
who still live high among black clouds.
Who weave the darkness
bear the spells.
Feed ancient waters
rising from dark wells.

Buried Icarus’s remains
along the solemn shore.
Seeded words upon their tongues.
The mourning women
of the vale.
Standing in the gloom
lightning storms and pouring rain
to raise the dead
swooping from the hills
and feel the sorrow
their ghosts impaled.
into their veins.

This is my second piece inspired by the line by @courtney.whittamore “to all the forgotten gods.”
Thank you for inspiring me.✨

Tarnished scars
Suave smiles
The lightning lingers on our skin.
as the sunset wades in
moonlit tides.
We know our shadows won’t fade away.
For we burned in volcanic caves.
Lava crashing with the ocean’s waves
Breathing fire’s desire.
And when the tectonic plates break,
making earthen caverns
in our face,
We’ll still hear the song of the fates
thundering from the infernal gates
playing with our demon’s choir.

I was honored to have @chloecullenwriter as my FLP writing partner this month for the First Line Project. She gave me the line “Lightning lingers on my skin”. The FLP project waz founded by @emmajanepoetry and is Edited by Emily @life_and_light_poetry
I also used the prompt by @loco.fy8.4.da.ry8 and @zowie_norris_author “Don’t Fade away”. Finally, I also used the prompts by @_elis_poetry_ @darkheaven_14 and @swathipp295 “Tarnished scars” and “Suave smile”. I apologize for taking any poetic license with these talented poet’s prompts. I truly appreciate your inspiration.

🎧 USE HEADPHONES 🎧

✋ HANDS 🤚
We search our palms
for answers,
studying every line
for signs of fortune,
failure,
or fate.
How strange.
The lines foretold the river,
yet the hands built dams.
The stars predicted surrender,
yet the hands sharpened swords.
For it was never fate
that unsettled me.
It was the hands,
those faithful servants
of a wandering mind,
raising kingdoms,
ruining lives,
and returning home
as though they had done
nothing at all.
Tell me,
what use are prophecies
when the hands entrusted
with carrying them out
decide otherwise?

We spend a lifetime searching our palms for destiny, studying every line for clues about what lies ahead.
Yet history has rarely been shaped by the lines in our hands.
It has been shaped by the choices they made.
This poem is not about hands that heal, hold, or create.
It is about hands that challenge predictions, alter outcomes, and quietly rewrite what fate appeared to have decreed.
For while we seek answers in our palms, the hands themselves are often busy changing them.

@thistooisholy My amazing Savannah, hosted yet another thought provoking event where one needed to explore #hands and the implications/ possibilities etc! My penpal for the event is @saintemilywrites and I would love to read what Emily has to say about my take on the #prompt . Also looking forward to your poem Emily.

You only see the part of me
the light sustains.
Not what fell into the dark
along the canyon cliffs,
but what remains.
If you listen to the ocean waves as they crash against the craggy rocks,
you can hear the voices we betrayed.
Beyond the door they left unlocked
The place you cannot name.
It sees through your unsure words.
Everything you can’t explain.
The beauty and the pain.
I am the raging river of blood that thrashes through your veins.
What you can only see
The mad ferocity
of red torrential rain.

I wrote this piece for the poetry exchange hosted by Savannah @thistooisholy Her prompt was “Blood”🩸

Something ancient stirs in the darkness
buried under moss and stone.
Dusk grieves in silence
Names breathed into dust
alone.
The trees know what wanders in the shadows
trying to find a way back home.
Deep in the bogs of the moorland
into the mist of the Scottish rone.

As part of the First LIne Project whose founder is @emmajanepoetry I was asked to find a line I had written to before. I was honored to collaborate with Emily @life_and_light_poetry who gave me the line “Dusk grieves in silence.” Emily is also the Editor of FLP.
I also used one of the @poeticreveries_ May prompts “Something ancient stirs”
Thank you for inspiring me.

There is a dark wind that follows me
wherever I go.
It knows the secrets I carry
spoken in a language only a shaman mother’s tongue
would know.
They say you can never leave your burdens.
They follow you wherever
darkness grows.
I may see a thousand crimson tides
in your eyes,
but there will always be a part of me that’s missing
forever buried
in the never-ending night’s
savage blizzard snow.

Poem Titled Allure
Inspiration
Prompt ~~ @poemsbystephanie1
Sunday sinful prompts
" How about a party for two
Are you interested ?"
#stephsinfulprompts

Literary note ~~ the title introduces the theme
The poem introduces the alluring subject.
Internal lines mostly.. nothing contrived. As it came was penned . The poem ends with the prompt line . Which were delightfully perfect.
Thank you Steph ❤️.
Hope you enjoy my piece .
Have you ever been drawn to a voice and then turned to look who it belonged to ? I would love to hear from the men ..
