Deepen your practice. Facilitation begins long before a session and continues through the integration that follows. Preparation, consent, presence, boundaries, and ongoing support all deserve thoughtful attention. I wrote Trauma-Informed 5-MeO-DMT Facilitation: An Educational Manual to bring those responsibilities into one practical resource, alongside reflections on self-awareness, ethics, and nonduality. Whether you’re exploring this work or deepening an established practice, my intention is to offer something you can return to as your understanding grows. What happens when the ego follows us into the role of “healer”? In this clip from Conversations with Dr. Wes, Stephan Kerby, founder of @mindscape_institute , speaks candidly about one of the biggest traps in psychedelic facilitation: the need to feel special, needed, admired, or seen as the guru. And he doesn’t speak about it with judgment—he includes himself in the conversation. The deeper question for anyone holding space becomes: “How do I remove as much of myself from their experience as I can?” Because sometimes what looks like facilitation can quietly become performance. And sometimes medicine doesn’t dissolve the ego—it magnifies it. Real facilitation requires humility, continual self-examination, and the willingness to recognize: this isn’t about me. Stephan’s perspective on this is one of the things I deeply appreciate about the trauma-informed approach being developed at Mindscape Institute. 🎙️ Full conversation available now on Conversations with Dr. Wes… LINK IN BIO 🙏🙌🤍 #StephanKerby #MindscapeInstitute #PsychedelicFacilitation #5MeODMT #PsychedelicTherapy

Maybe one of the quieter signs of awakening is needing fewer people to know you’re awake. In this episode of Conversations with Dr. Wes, Stephan Kerby, founder and Director of @mindscape_institute , discusses how remarkably adaptable the ego can be: “Look how successful I am” simply becomes “Look how awakened I am.” Same ego. New costume. Maybe just a little more linen and beads. 😂 Real awakening may look less like announcing our consciousness and more like becoming a lighthouse—simply embodying it. Less performance. Less hierarchy. More presence. More humility. How have you seen spirituality itself become another identity for the ego? The breakthrough is not the transformation. My newest episode of Conversations with Dr. Wes is out now with Stephan Kerby, founder and director of Mindscape Institute. @mindscape_institute Stephan and I go deep into 5-MeO-DMT, trauma-informed facilitation, ego dissolution, integration, spiritual emergence, and embodiment—but ultimately this conversation became about something much bigger than psychedelics. What happens after the breakthrough? You can have an extraordinary experience. You can glimpse beyond the identity you’ve spent a lifetime constructing. You can understand your trauma and conditioning in entirely new ways. But eventually, you come home. Back to your relationships. Your family. Your work. Your triggers. Your body. Your nervous system. That’s where embodiment begins. We talk about the difference between insight and actual transformation, why psychedelics are tools rather than cures, the importance of client sovereignty, and the responsibility of facilitators to get their own ego out of the way rather than becoming the interpreter—or guru—of someone else’s experience. Stephan also shares his own powerful journey into this work, the creation of Mindscape Institute, and his two books: 📖 The Embodiment Protocol: A Practical Guide to Awakening with 5-MeO-DMT — with Amber Kerby, LMFT @nonordinary.therapy 📖 Trauma-Informed 5-MeO-DMT Facilitation: An Educational Manual Both with forewords by Martin W. Ball, Ph.D. @martinwball This one goes deep. The experience may open the door. The real question is how we live once we walk back through it. 🎙️ Beyond the Breakthrough: 5-MeO-DMT, Trauma & Embodied Awakening | Stephan Kerby Full episode on Conversations with Dr. Wes — LINK IN BIO 🙏 #5MeODMT #Psychedelics #PsychedelicIntegration #TraumaInformed #Consciousness

Are we hunting for meaning in the wrong places? 🧩 For most of us, work has been like modern-day hunting and gathering—a way to secure resources for survival. But what happens when our entire worth becomes tied to a LinkedIn profile? We define ourselves through roles like CEO, artist, therapist, or accountant. But who are you when the role disappears? Maybe the real freedom begins when we sit with the truth that we are already enough, entirely separate from our productivity. What’s your biggest struggle with letting go of your professional identity? After one of my deepest 5-MeO experiences, I remember saying: “I’ve never been so grateful to be human.” It wasn’t because I’d reached some final destination. It was because, for the first time, I truly appreciated the gift of being here. So often, we approach psychedelics searching for the extraordinary—for awakening, transcendence, or the next profound experience. And while peak experiences can open us in unimaginable ways, they aren’t the destination. What happens when we come home is. This is why I’m so passionate about intentional low-dose work. It gives us the opportunity to stay in relationship with ourselves—to witness our patterns, soften our nervous system, deepen awareness, and integrate what the peak revealed. The peak may show us what’s possible. The quieter doses teach us how to live it. Whether through low-dose work or a profound peak experience, the invitation is the same: Not to become someone else... But to remember who you already are—and to fully inhabit the miracle of being human. I’m grateful to Stephan Kerby for this thoughtful conversation and for exploring these questions with such honesty. 📺 Watch the full video 👉Link in bio.
