I’m stoked on the @neuraldsp CorOS 4.1.0 update just like everyone else that uses a QuadCortex. However, as primarily a bass player, I’m most stoked on the added Douglas Shining Compressor (Darkglass Hyperluminal) and Plugin Parametric-4 four band EQ. In combination, they give me the opportunity to put just about anything into the FX loop of the QuadCortex and tweak the sound exactly how I want it. In this example; The Douglas Shining Compressor lets me absolutely rip on the treble pickup of my vintage Rickenbacker bass without getting too hot. The Plugin Parametric-4 gives me total sculpting power of the @mingsoldering Athena that’s in the FX loop. PCOM and new effects aside, these are really useful utilities. Cheers.

Had @darkdruiddm over for some retracking and editing; but we got sidetracked with my new pedal from @mingsoldering ! This is the MS70, based on the old Ampeg SS-70C. Boosting is with the Ming Soldering “Flesh Vortex.” Power amp by @guitarrasz into Marshall MF400. #srvstudios #mingsoldering #chunkytone #darkdruid

Happy 4/20! Check out “Collector of Severed Heads” available on all platforms, and I’ll have it available on the Depraved Flesh Bandcamp later today!
Inspired by “The Voices”, with Ryan Reynolds, as well the recent “Bone Daddy” Grave robber story/case. Weird movie…even more disturbing case! Toke up and bang yer heads!

Yes, I’m serious.

Mostly I doom, but this time I slam.
The Impaler Lord @iron.forged.audio was one of those pedals that immediately made my mood and face change in seconds so I just sticked to the feeling and hit the record button right away. To push things further on guitars I took my „metalrat“ of choice, the @mingsoldering Pissjug Warrior and I was set.

The Impaler Lord is a preamp pedal recreating the sounds of 80s/90s deathmetal. Dialing in sick tones was done super quick and when I tried playing bass through it I knew this pedal has the full package.
For this demo I did two tracks with guitar (with the pissjug warrior infront) and one bass track (Impaler Lord only).

I’ll do a tweaking demo with the impaler lord too so stick around.

Gear used:

@gibsonguitar Melody Maker V
@novapickups monolith bridge pickup
@woodriteguitars @doesitdoom Warlord bass
@stringjoy strings .12-.64 (drop B)
@mingsoldering Pissjug Warrior
@iron.forged.audio Impaler Lord
guitar IRs: k100/v30
Bass IRs: Ampeg 810
