As wildfires continue to rage across the country, the federal and most provincial governments are expanding fossil fuel infrastructure 😡

But we can push back. Mississauga recently did that by endorsing the Fossil Fuel Treaty, an international effort to transition to a clean, healthy, and just global economy.

In doing so it has joined almost 20 other cities across Canada including Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Ottawa.

The endorsements commit cities to do what they can at the local level while demanding that higher levels of government do their part!

Let's keep up the pressure.

You can add your voice by signing the petition: Stand.earth/FossilFuelTreaty

🔔 #GoodClimateNews alert 🔔 Mississauga has taken a leap towards climate action 👏

It recently endorsed the Fossil Fuel Treaty, a global campaign for a just transition to a sustainable future for everyone.

This commits the city to do what it can locally, while putting pressure on higher levels of government to do their parts.

This is kind of key at a time when the federal and most provincial governments are expanding fossil fuel infrastructure… 🤮

We need to push back. And we can do that from the bottom up 💪

👇 Comment below for the links to sign our petition and read our blog to find out just how Mississaugans did it!

Maybe you can do it in your community too 😉

Unemployed? Tired of sending applications into the void? Employers want experience, but won’t give the chance to learn. Employment shouldn't just be for the well-connected.

That’s why we’re organizing youth & allies at Toronto Climate Week, a canvassing experience you can put on your resume.

Yes, we’re hiring you for a day (unpaid, but with a letter of recommendation/ certificate) .If the Youth Climate Corps program was fully invested by the federal government you would be paid a living wage while learning!

Because in this broken job market, sometimes you’ve got to make one up.

How it works:
✅ Check-in: June 1–6 (location, schedule TBD)
✅ Get your task & take action at Toronto Climate Week
✅ Document your experience (video, photos, notes)
✅ Group review & celebration at Christie Pits Park on June 6
✅ Walk away with a YCC letter of recommendation and resume-ready experience

🔗RSVP to our social and get the details! Link in bio

This is how we fight back—with action, not greenwashed networking corporate events. #YouthClimateCorps #TorontoClimateWeek #ClimateAction #EntryLevelJobs

Join Our National YCC Organizing Call this Thursday on February 19th.

Don’t miss your chance to sign up for our National Youth Climate Corps (YCC) organizing call, before Bushra and Lea age out of eligibility! 😅

We’ve secured a pilot program, but the real work starts now! With a smaller but motivated team, we’re pushing harder than ever to turn the YCC into a bold, fully implemented public program that meets the scale of the crises we face.

As attacks on education from the Ford government and federal austerity budgets strip away climate action and public services jobs, the YCC’s vision needs you—a mass movement of people ready to advocate, organize, and demand change.

Together, we’ll reflect, discuss, organize, lobby, build, and reimagine the YCC as a program that serves all Canadians, especially marginalized communities, Indigenous peoples, labor workers, and young people struggling in this crisis.

P.S. Rumor has it Minh-Ly might even share her birth year if you join the call! 😉

Sign up now link in bio—let’s make this happen!
