Pushing the limits of sliding glass design at Kingston Road, London.

Designed by IQ using the @minimalwindowsuk system, this installation responds directly to the architect’s brief, creating a sliding door elevation that adds long‑term value to the property.

The system used here is typically recommended to a maximum height of 4 metres. At this project, IQ Glass extended that to deliver sliding glass doors at 4.6 metres tall, demonstrating what is possible with the right technical knowledge, experience and detailing.

These large format panels maximise daylight and openness within the space, while maintaining the slim sightlines the system is known for. Achieving this scale required careful coordination of structure, glazing specification and installation to ensure both performance and long‑term durability.

Projects like this show how architectural glazing can be pushed beyond standard limits when design intent and technical expertise are fully aligned.

Save this as a reference for large‑scale sliding door design, or get in touch to discuss what’s possible on your project.

Tavistock, a stunning coastal transformation in Devon, featuring @minimalwindowsuk sliding doors that perfectly frame the rolling hills and sea views. This contemporary home was designed to maximise its cliffside location, with IQ Glass providing high-performance architectural glazing to create a seamless indoor-outdoor transition.

The slim aluminium interlockers offer nearly uninterrupted views, allowing the living space to feel entirely open to the sea breeze. These sliding systems were integrated with flush floor tracks, ensuring the transition from the modern interior to the expansive terrace is completely level.

Frameless glass links and slim-framed sliding doors seamlessly connect the traditional stone elevations of Martin Top Farm in the Ribble Valley. The minimal windows 4+ system frames the surrounding landscape with clean lines and uninterrupted clarity.

Designed by Stanton Andrews architects, this sensitive farmhouse renovation uses a modern glass box extension to bridge the gap between the historic structure and its rural surroundings. IQ Glass was specified to provide a bespoke glazing package that includes structural glass roofs and floor-to-ceiling glass walls, creating a light-filled living space that feels entirely open to the landscape.

By utilizing @minimalwindowsuk with ultra-slim 21mm sightlines, the design preserves the far-reaching views across the Lancashire countryside while providing high-performance thermal insulation for the traditional home.
