There is a difference between photographing a wedding and understanding one.

The most meaningful images are never created through heavy direction or interruption.

They happen when there is space like when clients feel fully present, fully seen, and completely at ease.

My role has always been to protect that space.

To observe with intention.
To recognize what matters.
To preserve it honestly.

Because luxury isn’t defined by excess. It’s defined by presence.

This was one of those moments that didn’t need direction.

There was no posing.
No rushing.
No trying to “get the shot.”

Just a pause, right in the middle of everything, where they took a breath and realized, this is really happening.

We built space into their day intentionally, and it changed the way everything felt. They weren’t catching up to a timeline.

They weren’t worried about what was next. They were present with each other.

And when couples are present, the photos take care of themselves.

This is what calm looks like.

And this is why I photograph weddings the way I do.

If 77 years is all we get in a life, I’ll spend all of them listening to Colony House.

Another tour come and gone.
17 shows, 14 states, one province. 8 flights, 4 rental cars, countless miles.
A replenished bank of memories and moments to tide me over til the next round.
My heart is simultaneously so full, but also at least 77% sad that it’s over.

What a crazy and beautiful life it is to chase your favorite band around the country.
It is the privilege of a lifetime to be their fan and be on the sidelines of all this magic.
As @wfchap perpetually reminds me, it’s only the beginning. Onwards and upwards, boys. To the moon.

It hits me sometimes, usually in the hush after wrap, that I get to do this work with creators like this.

The last few weeks were stacked with long days, big wins, and a whole lot of creative magic. I stood shoulder to shoulder with some of the most talented, kind, wildly capable humans around. They sharpen every idea and make every moment (and pivot) lighter.

It isn’t just the content they create. It’s how they show up, carry the weight with joy, make room for others, and care about the people on the other side of the screen.

I’ll share some of what we made together soon. For now, I couldn’t let another moment slip by without celebrating this crew (and the others not pictured).

“Insanely lucky” barely covers it. Honored to get to do these work and even more grateful for the humans I get to do it alongside.

Hey all! It’s been a minute since I’ve “introduced myself” for those of you who may not know me in person!

Hey there! I’m Tay! And a good way to intro myself would actually be able to show off some of my people who have had my back, encouraged me, built me up from behind and in front of the lens. Thankful for yall, forever.

The strongest humans lift each other up. 💫

PRAISE PARTY @elevationworship 🤍🤍🤍
These rooms were full of heaven and the presence of Jesus. These songs are spirit breathed, truth filled, ground taking, anthems for myself & for so so many.

So honored I got to be a small part of so many hands creating such beautiful spaces for people to freely worship. Tag, you’re in @jordannholliday hehe 😘

Also, isn’t it wild that our God is so sovereign & kind that he cares for each of us even in a sea of people. To think that he knows every hair on every head of every human on earth, times a hundred generations. I can’t count the times I stood back and watched him minister to his people who he loves so much. I am left in awe😭
