Are you coming tonight? Link in the bio to reserve your spot, and to buy prints.

Through paired portraits of six women, Matthew Osborne’s “Ministry of Decorum” explores the expectations placed on women, and what happens when they define themselves on their own terms.

Each pairing contrasts an image presented as socially approved with one labeled unauthorized. The language of official orders, warnings, and propaganda exposes how appearance, ambition, motherhood, cultural identity, and self-expression become subjects of judgment and control.

Created in collaboration with Avy, Sarah, Sara, Danielle, Minji, and Mariel, the show brings individual experiences into a shared conversation about conformity, autonomy, and visibility. It asks viewers to consider whose expectations they enforce, whose freedom they defend, and whether they can recognize a woman’s humanity beyond the role they expect her to fill.

The Space She’s Given is an evening centered on six extraordinary women using their voices, their stories, and their creativity to take up space.

This exhibition is a collaboration between these six women and Matthew Osborne, as he continues exploring his own journey as a visual artist, using portraiture, storytelling, and shared creative expression to examine identity, boundaries, and belonging.

We are living in a moment when simply expressing who you are can feel increasingly dangerous, especially for women. But this is not the time to become smaller, quieter, or more careful with our humanity.

It is a time to resist.

To create. To speak. To question. To tell the truth. To continue the beautiful, complicated journey of human expression.

These six women bring different experiences, perspectives, and ways of moving through the world, but each is confronting the spaces, expectations, and boundaries she has inherited, and deciding for herself what belongs to her.

The Space She’s Given is about more than the space society allows us.

It’s about the space we choose to claim.
