My African roots are a huge inspiration to my art/creations, manifested in bright colours, graphic lines & patterns, animals and bold, strong warrior-like characters. Here reflected in a small skateboard series. ❤️🌍🇿🇦☀️🛹👾🙌⚡️✨

Skateboard decks are one of my favourite formats to paint.
Even though I’m pretty hopeless at skateboarding, I’ve been in love with all things skateboarding since I was a kid. There is also something special about the form/shape and material - working with wood feels more tangible in a way and demands different considerations in the preparation/process. ☀️❤️🛹👾🙌⚡️✨

These images capture me adding some final details to Inkanyezi Y. Warrior of the forever sun..

Niki M. X Ilanga L.
Intergalactic urban warrior. Personal guard to the queen of the kingdom of the forever sun. (2024) ❤️⚔️👾🙌✨

📷: @mio_miya0501

This somewhat fierce looking androgynous character has a magical protective armour inspired by the amazing Issey Miyake. 💎 I really enjoyed the experimental aspect of playing with different textures on the armour and sword. The open palms are a sign of peace. ❤️⚔️

✨🕺 Freestyle dancing is about shedding expectations and trusting your inner rhythm. 🎶💫
In that moment, you’re not following steps—you’re expressing your true self, letting emotions guide every movement. ❤️‍🔥
It’s a celebration of spontaneity, creativity, and the pure freedom you feel when you dance without boundaries. 🌈💃
