I’ve learned a lot about people in the last few years.

I’ve learned that history doesn’t guarantee loyalty. That people you thought would always have a seat at your table can decide to walk away. That sometimes you’ll never get the conversation, the apology, or even the explanation you thought you deserved.

And I’ve also learned that I don’t have to chase any of it. I’m too busy chasing babies, anyways.

This is my home. These are my people. This little life we’ve built has been through enough to teach me exactly what matters.

I’m not interested in forcing relationships, begging for understanding, or sacrificing the peace inside my home to keep people comfortable outside of it.

Because one thing the hardest years of our lives have made incredibly clear is who continues to show up.

The people who love our girls fiercely. The ones who know them, celebrate them, check on them, and make sure they know they are loved. The ones they themselves run to, and know.

And the people who still show up for Landry.

The ones who say his name. Who remember the dates that matter. Who include him when they talk about our family. Who understand that loving us means loving all four of our children; even the one they can’t see in this picture.

Those things mean more to me now than I could ever put into words.

Those are our people. The ones who celebrate with us, grieve with us, remember with us, and continue choosing us. We have so much room for them.

But I’m finally okay with letting the rest go.

Protecting my peace isn’t bitterness. It’s knowing what’s worth protecting, recognizing the people who have proven they’re worth holding onto, and pouring my energy back into the family standing right in front of me.

This family will always be worth protecting. 🤍

I’m so happy to finally post these! I’m a very difficult person to surprise, but he really pulled off the dream proposal for me. Taite travels a lot for work, and one place he has to go to is Massachusetts. so when I was told this was just a work trip and I could tag along, I fully believed it! plus it was in Boston which is one of my absolute favorite cities. After our first night there, he told me that he booked us a private tour of the boston public library which was so exciting for me! (clueless) The way he got us to dress up was by saying that he and his boss had a dinner with clients from Harvard that night and the significant others were invited along (I was still clueless bc WHAT DO YOU MEAN I have to talk with people from HARVARD at dinner. I was a nervous wreck) of course this was ALL made up though.

We got to the library 10 minutes early and we waited outside while everyone was being kicked out the library by security! I was thinking my goodness how private is this tour💀 I start getting anxious because there’s hundreds of people flying out the doors. My mind starts spinning…. is he proposing out here with all of these people watching??! (I wanted an intimate proposal) So.. I stupidly start feeling his jacket and boom. there’s the box. We both lock eyes and he’s panicked. I say “Taite WHAT is that” he then says it’s his wallet. I’m like that is not a wallet… please tell me you’re not proposing in front of all of these people right now?!?! (hearts racing, abt to vomit from social anxiety) He tells me he’s not, and that he bought me a nice necklace he wanted to surprise me with after dinner. (I again believed him bc it made sense)

We then get inside for the “private tour” and once we get to the hall, the worker ushers us into the room and says that our tour guide will be with us shortly. Taite then leads me to where he got down on one knee and the rest is a BLUR. we had the rest of the hour to take photos there which was a dream. we had a major debrief after this because I needed to know EVERYTHING!! He thought of everything for ME!🥺
