How to avoid a bumpy wig when making your wigs 👇🏽

One of the easiest ways to make your wig look unprofessional is having an uneven or bumpy cap underneath.

Here are a few things I always pay attention to:

Lay your foundation properly –
Make sure your cornrows or wig cap are flat and evenly distributed.

Avoid bulky stitching –
Excess thread and overlapping stitches can create bumps.

Space your wefts properly –
Don’t pile bundles on top of each other unnecessarily.

Stretch your wefts evenly –
Uneven tension can make one part of the wig fuller than another.

Secure your tracks neatly –
Keep your stitching consistent and close to the foundation.

Check as you go ( very important) –
Don’t wait until the wig is finished before checking for lumps and uneven areas.

Customize the fit –
A well-fitted wig cap makes a huge difference in how flat and natural the finished wig looks.

The goal is simple: flat foundation + neat construction = a smooth, beautiful wig.

Save this for your next wig-making session and share it with someone learning the craft. 🤎
