Happy Birthday to the beat of my heart, Marcel. ♥️💫🐾🥰🐾🐾♥️

Today we celebrate more than just another year; we celebrate a miracle. From the moment Marcel came into my life, he’s defied every odd, living each day with a strength and spirit that inspires me endlessly. Diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune disease, but never defined by it — he’s lived a life most dream of.

He’s traveled the world in first class, dined at the finest tables, graced stages, lived on campaign sets, and even had his face on a magazine cover. He’s even inspired MANY in the beauty community to own a Frenchie or two as well! ( they are like potato chips; it’s hard to have just one ! )

But beyond the glitz, it’s the quiet moments; the way he leans into me when he’s missed me, the way he craws into my suitcase at every chance, the look in his eyes when he’s may not be able to get to go with, the silly way he follows me everywhere when I’m home but puts himself to bed when he’s done for the night and wants me to come crawl in bed ( he knows I’m a sucker! ) This all always reminds me what unconditional love truly means.

I made a little video to honor our memories, but no reel could ever fully capture the way he’s changed my heart forever. Loved by SO many people, blessed with his strength and cherished by me; Here’s to you, Marcel; my co-pilot, my best friend, and my soul dog. 🐾♥️ Thank you for choosing me.

The first full moon of 2024 will brighten the skies tonight - and the wolves may be howling….. 🐺🐺🐺🐺🌕🌕🌕🌕

The moon, known as the wolf moon, will hit peak illumination during the day, but the moon will be below the horizon. Sky watchers will have to wait until the evening to see it - when the sun goes down and the moon rises. Moonrise is expected around 5:14 p.m. Eastern in D.C., although the exact time will vary in different cities.

A great time to connect with the universe is during the rejuvenating full moon. A full moon embodies the highest point of the lunar cycle and can be used to either focus on manifesting what you want or to release everything that isn’t meant for you. So, I’m here to tell you that it’s worth testing out!

All you need is a piece of paper and pencil.

Find a quiet place that you feel comfortable in. You can set the mood however you please and begin to write down your manifestations. Ask yourself, what do you want to release? What do you want to bring into your life? What has held you back?

These are considered your full moon wishes for this month. Now, place your list in a jar or inside an item so it sits in the moonlight. You can bring your list inside the next day and place it somewhere that holds meaning to bring your wishes to fruition.

Why is it called a wolf moon?
January’s full moon is commonly referred to as the wolf moon, probably derived from the idea that wolves tend to howl more in the winter. Howling is four times more common in February than in May, according to the National Park Service. Wolves aren’t howling at the moon but are communicating with comrades. They typically breed from January to March in the northern United States, but are quieter in the spring so they don’t attract predators while they raise their pups.
The moon is also known as the ice moon, the moon after Yule and the old moon.

Cannot help but to reflect in moments like these. As I am here in Anaheim, California prepping for the North American Hairstylist Awards a flood of emotions come to my heart and mind.

The nervous, the excitement, the stress, the emotions; ALL the feelings! When you win North American Hairstylist of the Year ( as I did in 2018) the following year you are asked to create a presentation in celebration. By far the most challenging thing I have done to this day. An entire production that is in your control!!! The heart that I poured into this, the friends I made during this, the brands and people that came out to support this and the hairstylists I was able to inspire….. this is why I do what I do. This is why the sacrifices are always worth it. I look back at this collection and feel so proud and honored to be a part of an industry that has so much love to give and so much creativity to spread to the world. My inspiration for this show; GODDESSES: empowering women to be strong, courages, unapologetic, powerful, fearless, and comfortable in their skin no matter what. I feel in love with this inspiration and one day I do want to take this foundation and even bring it to the next level!

I cannot wait for tonight too show the industry the beautiful show we at @ultabeauty have worked so hard over the months in preparation to put together this year.
