52 Weeks of Shakespeare’s Sonnets
Shakespeare’s Sonnet 55: Week 45

The Living Record of Your Memory

It has always been a dream to speak about Shakespeare and bookmaking in the same sentence at an institution that collected my work. It has been a dream that when promoting my work the institution concentrated on the philosophical, literary, and aesthetic components of my work and practice. I am happy to share that it happened this week, and I am thankful to the scholars who believe that Shakespeare has a place on the same stage as book arts.

52 Weeks of Shakespeare’s Sonnets
Music to Hear: Sonnet 8

Life, politics, and world news seep into my art like dye seeps into fabric. I realize that this added meaning, deeply important to me internally, cannot be discovered by an observer who does not know the context in which the artwork has been created. So for this post, I want to run an experiment. I am adding Reminiscence, a section telling the reader something about the context in which the work was created, directly from the artist.

Reminiscence. In January 2020, I was hired by Baltimore Center Stage (BCS), a regional theater to create original artwork for their 2020/21 season. My job was to read the plays and create designs based on these readings…

Post is too long for this platform. Continued on Substack. Link in bio.

One of my favorite creations is now part of the permanent collection of a great library @aldenlibrary Thank you!

Music To Hear, book 11 of the Love Sonnets from Shakespeare to Baltimore series.

Decoding the visuals: the clock-like graphics represent the latitude and longitude coordinates of Baltimore’s historic Green Mount Cemetery.

For a kid who didn't learn to read until 4th grade, seeing my name in black & white never gets old. I can't thank my co-authors enough for their support and guidance. #winning
