It's day 23 of our #30in30 Writing Challenge! Running 1-31 August, we'll be releasing a new daily writing prompt created by one of our #30in30 commissioned artists. To participate, comment on this post with your 3-line poem or excerpt before 10am tomorrow. Today's prompt comes from Misbah Wolf:

"Leave pen and paper beside your bed. Next time you wake in the night, don’t turn on the light.
Write with your non-dominant hand until waking fully arrives.'

~ Misbah Wolf

The selected stanzas of the day will receive a copy of Hekate (Simon & Schuster, 2025) by internationally bestselling poet Nikita Gill, thanks to our partner Dymocks!

I just attended the Crip Stories: Nothing About Us Without Us panel at Melbourne Writers Festival.
I read through the book in preparation for the event and absolutely loved it! As a disabled writer and editor myself, it was relatable and informative to read about the experiences of others in my position.
The discussions put words to many feelings I have had, and gave me a lot of ideas to reflect on once I regain my spoons .

Our double weekender at shotkickers all wrapped up.
A little brief break while we get our bearings back together.
Thankyou so much to @erisgodmusic and @blackdimecabaret for organising these two shows.
