“the work is important. the people are important-er.” - our marketing director.

theatre is oftentimes either the table read, the rehearsal, or the step and repeat photos. all of that is the most important parts of ✨creating ✨ good theatre.

but the moments in between: the laughs and the banter and the dressing room moments, the hallways bump-ins, the adjusting-set 20 minutes before opening, the opening speech…that’s how we keep doing theatre. show after show we welcome you to step into our world, and into a world we create anew every 3 months. we couldn’t do that without knowing that the people who work here actually care, that they are here every day sharing their talent.

so come step into the world of saint megan. talk to us. we cannot do this without you. 🫶

→ the designers of saint megan

every show can be boiled down to 3 parts: the people who plan and execute the show (producers), the people who create the world for all your senses (designers) and the people who carry out the story (director and actors).

in this mini-doc we focus on set design by @aknehans and prop design by @bernarderner to show you how a few designers shape all you see.

saint megan
written by @joyousmcjoy
directed by @linskiwashere

starring @caityyz, @rachelsorsa, @shannonleeclair, @cordeliaaaleigh, @megmarlenecain and @zackrocklinwaltch

produced by @betsyboobop, @justinokin and @emilyj1280
conversation series by @kilakitu
casting @vichoffmanla

inspired by the story of megan phelps-roper, granddaughter of the founder of the westboro baptist church, a hyper-calvinist sect notorious for its outrageous picketing of military funerals.

when megan defends her faith online, her curious mind and honest conversations threaten to sever her from family and the only community she has ever known.

part family drama, part spiritual reckoning, part twitter conversation—with music video parodies and shaker dances—saint megan explores the long history of american christian zealotry, our longing for salvation, and the moral courage it takes to face uncertainty.
