POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This wasn’t how August 22 was supposed to look.

We were supposed to be running around behind the scenes, solving a hundred last-minute problems, welcoming artists, helping our beneficiary, opening doors and bringing another Ladies Who Rock 4 A Cause™ festival to life.

Instead, we had a barbecue. ❤️

I’m still heartbroken over what happened. And yes, if I’m being truthful, I’m still a little salty about it too. So much work, love and expectation went into something that was taken off the calendar through no choice of our own.

But today reminded me of something important.

You can cancel an event. You can’t cancel a family.

Not everyone who would have been beside us at the festival could be here, but so many of these beautiful humans came together anyway. We ate, laughed, hugged, told stories and quite literally made lemonade out of lemons.

And as I looked around at everyone, I realized that this is one of the greatest things Ladies Who Rock 4 A Cause™ has built over all these years.

People.

People who show up. People who care. People who have become family.

I love this crazy, wonderful tribe more than I can say. ❤️

The festival may not have happened today.

But the heart of it was right here.

And that heart is still beating.

Eleven years. New frontiers.
We’re not finished. Not even close. ❤️
