I always love visiting @thefieldandforest_ when I'm in Natchez. Just had a great girls weekend here at @missnatchez celebrating birthdays, antique shopping and savoring interior design aesthetics.

Still soaking in all the goodness from the Summer Show @thecorbel in St. Francisville. ❤️For me, creating art is about more than just paint on canvas or paper… it’s about stirring up memories, honoring places, and celebrating the people we hold dear. It meant the world to have my daughter, cousins, and aunt come visit, and to see my dear friend @ellenmacomber and to stay with the ever wondrous Judy.
It was such a joy meeting so many of you who felt a connection not just to my work, but to the stories behind it. That kind of soul-to-soul moment is what it’s all about! ✨ There’s something so peaceful about finding your place, and doubles when sharing it with others. Several pieces are still available- please DM me if you see one you like. ❤️🤍💙

The Colonial Revival style house at 503 North Pearl Street was built circa 1903 for Mary Mack, an Irish immigrant and widow. The house had been empty for several years and had begun deteriorating when it was purchased by New Orleans artist Ellen Macomber in 2021. Macomber restored the missing elements of the front porch and rehabilitated the house as a historic tax credit project. The Foundation provided design advice and completed the historic tax credit application for the project. These pictures are part of a series of before and after photographs that will run in The Natchez Democrat every Wednesday during 2024 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Historic Natchez Foundation. #historicpreservation #beforeandafter #visitnatchez #historicnatchezfoundation
