Last week was our annual cousin music camp and Maclin did so well in the performance of Jingle Bell Beach! ❄️🎄⛱️ Evelyn and Kate were star performers as well. Adelaide missed him so much but I know she had fun being the oldest with Vignette and Daniella. @missplaist

On Saturday we surprised one of my Slidell moms Ms Dee with a birthday party/reunion. Fun fact: She has made quilts for every grandbaby so that was part two of the surprise--her very own quilt show. Watching my parents form these kinds of lasting friendships is goals. Ten kids and twenty grandkids later, they're still close. Hopefully it won't be another decade before we're all together again.

PS Maclin wants a pet frog now 🫪

Meet Lynet,

Lynet is a bright young girl with a big dream - she wants to become a doctor one day. She loves school, especially reading and writing.

But last term, Lynet struggled to attend classes consistently because her family could not afford basic scholastic materials. Like many children we serve, her desire to learn is strong, but the support around her is limited.

As schools prepare to open, Lynet's story reminds us that education is not just about classrooms - its about opportunity, dignity, and hope.

At Faith Foundation Uganda, we believe no child's dream should stop because of poverty.

🎆 New Years // Orange Beach
@missplaist

I think I've decided that the beach in the winter is my favorite. We managed to experience all 8 seasons in four days, but overall it was cool and pleasant. And no people. My kids braved the indoor pool on the last day after the hot tub broke and came back with blue lips. Vignette managed to not leave the hotel room at all except for donuts. I think she was happy to perfect her walking skills while inside and sit on her little ledge.

🎆 New Years // Florida, National Naval Aviation Museum

Dark and early Tuesday morning we set off for the beach! But the first stop was the aviation museum. I'm upset we didn't find the last clue for the scavenger hunt. Jake wouldn't let me ask for help.
