NEW READ 03.07.23 Requiem of the Rose King 1&2 🏵️👑 Aya Kanno The first thing I did when I started this account back in 2021 was ask for your recommendations. @misssupaku mentioned RotRK, and two and a half years later I've finally got round to reading it. These two volumes were acquired in a manga swap with @manga_pirate (cheers fella). Based on Henry VI and Richard III by William Shakespeare, reading this seems a little too much like homework. I did English A-level as a kid and this brought back memories of slogging over badly annotated text books. The story's far too melodramatic for my liking. @somewhere.nice.and.calm hit the nail on the head when she said it reminded her of Pandora Hearts. The historical setting adds nothing to the mix; this could be set in space for all the impact it has on the story. Maybe I'm reading it wrong. I know there are many of you that love this series, it's just not one for me. Hi my friends! I wanted to make a post to officially let you all know that I will be leaving mangagram for awhile, maybe indefinitely. After a lot of back and forth about this, I’ve decided that it’s just not in alignment with my desires and goals anymore. Will I still be watching anime and reading manga? ALWAYS. YES. But, over the last year or so, as much as this place has been a safe haven for me, it has caused me a lot of grief as well. Between the pressure of posting content, finding friends just to lose them, the bullying, the gatekeeping, blah blah blah, I’ve realized it’s just not the place it used to be. I think many people feel the same because those who used to post and be here more often, have also stepped away. I am BEYOND thankful to you all for being my friend and sharing your joy with me. I’ve met so many beautiful people here and I really was able to use my creativity. But, as I said, the negatives just outweigh the positives that I used to find in this space. 💔❤️‍🩹 I might be back later but I want to take a long break. I’ll be deactivating this account. I’ve been cleaning all morning and just put in a load of laundry- and I’m counting down the minutes until I can sit and relax again to take some pictures for the week and/or read some manga or watch anime 🥹 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve been slacking in anime watching and all these new releases are catching up to me. I was supposed to watch all of the first season of Devil is a part-timer before the second season comes out next week? (I think) - but have only watched like 4 episodes. Not because I dislike it or anything- it’s just my watching ✨MoOd✨ - I’ve been listening to audio books while working and after work and making dinner, I’ve just been sitting down and rewatching Game of Thrones 😅 Gotta say I really do love it- but am not looking forward to that rushed/horrible ending - but will watch it nonetheless 🤣 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m about to go take the clothes out of the dryer and start folding. Happy Birthday Sogo Osaka! (5/28) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sogo Osaka is a very calm and soothing, if sometimes unsure, presence most of the time. He’s very reserved, and prioritizes being polite and following the order of things over what he himself may desire. However, he does have a switch, and if you press it Sogo very quickly turns into one of the most menacing members of IDOLiSH7. He is not one you should anger 😌🤚🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sogo loves spicy food and has a high spice tolerance as a result. He claims that "it’s delicious when it makes your tongue hurt." (🤣 Much to the dismay of his members when he is in charge of cooking 🤣 ) He wants to try the world’s hottest and most famous Tabasco sauce and some of Sogo’s favorite foods are chili con carne, green curry, jerk chicken, and tom yam kung. He LOVES spicy food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So while he is cute and reserved and polite- Sogo can also be very scary. Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s so hard to believe that May is almost over and with only one week away from June, @xxbunnychoi and I joined up together to create a Pride challenge to celebrate pride, diversity, individuality and sexuality 🏳️‍🌈 Let’s keep striving to raise awareness that genders and sexuality don't change who we are at heart. Pride month is celebrated to support those who have accepted themselves and help those in the process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I, myself, even at my age, am still figuring it out. The label “straight” never sat right with me - even though most would probably categorize me in that- but I’ve learned that your sexuality isn't defined by who you have relations with – it's about how you feel and how you choose to identify yourself. The important thing is that we choose what label feels comfortable, or we choose no label at all. We might find, like many others have, that the label you choose may even change over time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So! Angst for Days #bloomsbdaychallenge Q) What’s a painful story or anime you can’t watch more than once? Implied Spoilers Below ✨ I don’t talk about Banana Fish as much because it HURTS. AOT, yes gives me all the pain but I get to breathe a little? Banana Fish? They took Angst and thought LET’s have a series dedicated to it. 😅 It’s one of those ones I don’t think I could ever watch again for the sheer pain- read it? Yes maybe I just can’t hear it 😅 I can never unsee certain scenes or emotions- Ash and Eiji reaching for each other 🥺 & I refuse to believe the ending of it. I truly do 😂 The short spin off with Eiji & Sing just cuts you deeper 🥺 I love the shot of Eiji sitting in front of the photographs. ✨Play it Cool, Guys✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I found out that “Play it Cool, Guys” is getting an anime adaptation and I just can’t stop being all giddy about it. I adore the manga and when I tell you it’s so flippin cute l, I mean it. I am so ready for all the laughs and serotonin this anime will bring. I hope they stick true to the art style and include the chibis! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here’s what I’ve found out so far: Manga creator Kokone Nata revealed on Twitter yesterday that it will air for two cours with each episode being 15 minutes long. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The anime will premiere in October, and will star: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Chiaki Kobayashi (who plays Langa in Sk8 the infinity) as Hayate Ichikura. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Kouki Uchiyama (who plays Tsukishima Kei, Miyamura Izumi, Inumaki Toge and Shigaraki Tomura) as Shun Futami. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yuichiro Umehara (Who plays Kureno Soma in Fruits Basket) as Takayuki Mima. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Shoya Chiba (who plays Minamoto Kou in Toilet Bound Hanako Kun, Sin Su Rin in Banana Fish and Taniharo in Horimiya ) as my boy Soma Shiki ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Chiaki Kon (The Way of the Househusband, Junjō Romantica) is directing the anime at Studio Pierrot. Spill the Tea | Character you’d want to meet #attackonapril Q) What fictional character would you want to meet & what would you do together? This seemed far more complicated than it needed to be for me. I debated Erwin - because that Mind 🤌🏻 or MOBLIT because he’s a sweet boy.
