We’re proud to be recognised via @apraamcos’ nomination in the NSW Export Awards (@aussieexport) and have Australian music acknowledged as one of the country’s great export success stories.

As Australia’s national music export office, we build pathways into global markets and create long-term trade outcomes for Australian music. Through showcases and trade missions, global networking, professional development, digital initiatives and inbound programs, we work to create sustainable export opportunities for Australian artists and the businesses that support them.

Australia is one of the world’s leading music-exporting nations. Alongside industries such as food, agriculture, wine and tourism, music is a powerful export, generating economic value, creating jobs, strengthening international relationships and sharing Australian voices and stories with the world.

This recognition belongs to the artists, managers, crew, labels, publishers, agents, venues, festivals and music businesses taking Australian music to the world, and to our partners across government and industry, @music.aus, APRA AMCOS, @aria_official, @ppca.official, @soundnsw and the @sagovernment, whose support makes this work possible.

thank you @natalie.lingwoodock + the entire team at @bigsound for the invitation to open this years keynote conversations & @goolwalgoolwal for the space to share my art and stories

names, dates, people and places have always melted into one for me so speaking on a history that’s still somewhat all over the place was only just a touch less difficult than the idea of not doing it at all

i want everyone, not just artists in this country to understand the power that we hold as individuals and a collective

that power honesty and intention was on display everywhere I looked this weekend and for the first time in a long time it felt like the momentum was finally in the right place

my speech is available in full via @rollingstoneaus

BUILDING LIKE BAD BUNNY

The “Building Like Bad Bunny” panel at BIGSOUND 2026 is a music and entertainment industry session focused on the massive international expansion of Latin music. @bigsound

Using the historic, record-breaking global rise of Puerto Rican megastar Bad Bunny as a core case study, this panel explores how artists can achieve global dominance by completely embracing their language, identity, and native culture rather than conforming to traditional Western music industry templates. The session bridges international and domestic perspectives to examine how Australia can grow its own Latin music communities and open new export pathways for Australian and First Nations artists by building stronger cultural connections with Latin America.

This will be hosted on Tuesday 1st of September, at BIGSOUND in Brisbane, Australia 2026.

Also exciting news! Latin Australian artist @jalmaaar will be performing at BIGSOUND.
