It's this Saturday folks! Excited to bring DisOriental - Beats from a Borderless World to @plot22sheffield for a very special session: Following their super successful recent DnB refixes of classics "Mare Mansa" and "Linha De Frente" on the Sounds Like This label, this is the Sheffield debut of DJ/Producer duo New Suedonym - performing an exclusive Brazilian Drum & Bass mashup for DisOriental. New Seudonym is the exciting new project of two stalwarts of the city's music scene for over two decades, who need very little introduction: Andy H is the award-winning Sheffield-based DJ, turntablist, and producer, best known as a long-standing resident DJ at the city's legendary The Tuesday Club (@tuesdayclubuk). Known as a "party starter," he uniquely blends his deep hip-hop roots with a wide variety of dancefloor bass music—including jungle, drum and bass, and funk. For almost as long as he’s been spinning records, Chris Welch also been hosting the popular Sheffield institution that is the weekly ‘Sounds Like This’ radio show on @sheffieldlive 93.2FM. Equally at home dropping the most infectious Brazilian riddims, Hip Hop classics and Drum & Bass bangers, he continues to be a mainstay of leftfield dance music in Sheffield with regular DJ appearances at festivals internationally such as Soundwave Festival (Croatia) and We Out Here. Also supported by yours truly, dropping DisOriental's signature blend of borderless basstastic bangers, this is going to be a fun and intimate summer session at the fantastic space and incredible sound-system that is Plot22. So come on down for a jump up and share this with friends! Ticket link (also in bio): https://www.fatsoma.com/e/un0y628e/local-w-disoriental 🔥🔥🔥

Thank you to everyone who came down to our launch DiaspoRIDDIM (Indefinite Leave to Party!) on Saturday!!!! What a beautiful mixed crowd throwing some incredible shapes on the dance floor 🥰 We'd be grateful if you're happy to share any more pictures and videos from what was an absolutely bouncing SOLD OUT night. This solstice weekend was such a terrific culmination of refugee week and a truly spectacular start to Migration Matters Festival's 10th anniversary celebrations. Despite (and I believe in defiance to) what is going on in the world, all weekend events were uplifting (the opening party, Mamawe, DiaspoRIDDIM, Small Park - Big Run for Palestine and many more....), full of joy and there was real feeling of being part of a community which embraces and celebrates diversity while truly valuing human connection. Thank you to the festival team for making all this happen by supporting us up to and on the night, and personal thanks to the dream DJ team @k_r_romluc , @mulembasdafricadance and our guests @chooclytan and @mlylasaifi for creating the perfect vibe for our first, in hopefully many more, DiaspoRIDDIM events to come. If you missed it or want more, Migration Matters celebrations continue with many more incredible gigs over the week (many of which are also selling out fast) and you can catch some of us and other amazing friends ( @dulead , @darkozee, @mistryllaneous, @mistrylink, @ciardulliclelia) playing at DisOriental - Beats from a Borderless World this Friday 27th at @hagglers_corner_ with Beirut Groove Collective @beirutgroovecollective headlining for what will be another very special party!
