Made with the support of @britishcouncil @strutdancewa @aakashodedracompany (Not to be confused with Pipedream, a different work made later in WA @theblueroomtheatre which has nothing to do with this one)

Rotten Work For @scottishdancetheatre Creating this work sometimes felt like taking a shower with an open wound: Aching, necessary. Thank you dancers, for everything - for trusting me and trusting this world we’ve built together. For taking her by the hand and walking her back home. I love her so and I could not have done it alone. Thank you for sharing the Rotten Work with me. Take care of her and each other - always. It was a huge pleasure to share my teaching practice with the team at @scottishdancetheatre last week. Such a talented and accomplished group of artists in one place! Thanks also to @fayefayefaye.tan and @paulina_porwollik for coming to Dundee to join class and have a little Scotland getaway together

Off-Season My heart is full to the brim after spending the first few months of 2026 creating with @scottishdancetheatre It has been so joyfully challenging, a process that has taken me to new depths of my practice. To challenge ways of making work, ways of performing work, how to hold spaces for artists to practise spontaneity, vulnerability and new facets of performance. Making work fully discovered through improvisation was gorgeous and frustrating, exciting and exposing. It has been one of the biggest journeys as a choreographer to figure out what this was going to be! Off-Season feels bold, bizarre, and very human at its core. And I love it dearly 💛 It has met its first audiences exactly as I would have wished and more! With laughter, lightheartedness and curiosity. Molly, Ben, Karla, Maya, Pauline, Massimo, Mitch, Paulina and Kassi - thank you for your deep investment, playfulness and for taking this wild and wonderful trip with me! I’ve never laughed so much every day in the studio with these wonderful people and been continually surprised by what they brought to the room. To Cleo - for the beautiful design and making of these glorious costumes. I’m so proud of you. To Michaella - for the wonderful lighting! Pink! Yes please. Haha you know me well. You always make everything shine! To Tom, who was there as a huge support through it all! And for a short stint - Stefi! To Joan and everyone at SDT, thank you for your support, care and belief. Off-Season is out on tour as part of Scottish Roots triple bill 👇 Go check it out if you can! 18th March – Johnstone Town Hall, Paisley 20th March – Ardrishaig Public Hall, Argyll 25th March – Dunvegan Community Hall, Skye 26th March – Sabhal Mor Ostaig, Skye 28th March – The Byre Theatre, St Andrews #scottishdancetheatre #scottishchoreographer #danceperformance #danceimprovisation #danceinscotland Images by Tiu Makkonen
