“The Man I Want to Be” by Miles Barnum This was my live debut with a full band with this original song. It’s a song that I wrote many years ago after a friend shared a very sad event that had occurred. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t shake the ominous feeling especially about how cruel people can be to each other. It was at this time that I knew I could be a songwriter because the lyrics poured onto the page. “Lift this veil before my eyes, release the darkness so I can see your love that never failed me and the man I want to be” I have been singing this song for years but this past month due to the dedicated artistry of incredible musicians and a fantastic production team, I was able to perform the song live and get a very good recording from a live performance. Thank you to the band, and to @tracyfromfargo for her incredible background vocals. Live Sound Mix: @mitchelrieth Video Editing: @tomcarsonfilm Video: Cody Avalos Special mention to Loy Larson adding such beautiful texture and soul. I will do doing this original along with four others in a two hour set TONIGHT at the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead, MN #everydaywinningmiles #artist #song #writer #live
