Stoked to take the win at this years @wavemasterscontest men’s pro and take home some money 💵. Been close to winning this one a few times so feels pretty good to finally get it done and beat out the boys in a fun final @austinclouse @tuckerdemsey @poteatnoah . Just want to thank @mitchkaufmann77 and everyone who makes the contest happen it’s one of my favorites of the year. Crazy to think we’re just over a week out from @loggerheadclassic!

The contest kicks off Friday, Sept. 25th, but the festivities start Thursday evening, Sept. 24th, with our welcome dinner at @safeharbormayport presented by @visit_jax! Featuring live music by @hagermanmusic & @howdytunes!

This is where we’ll release the heats and schedule, competitors can get checked in, grab their tote bags, competitor tees & sponsor goodies, get the rundown for the weekend, meet one another, and enjoy some fresh seafood / ice cold @sierranevada & tunes while the sun sets over the St. Johns River!

Thursday night is a private event for competitors, sponsors & volunteers, so unfortunately it is not open to the public.

Throughout this week, we’ll be rolling out more event posts highlighting this year’s musicians, some of the good times from last year, and everything we have lined up each evening - along with ticket links.

Just a reminder: these venues will sell out, so if you’re planning on joining us, go ahead and grab your tickets ahead of time!

Jay (RIP), 12 Years:
Most people thought they knew a lot about Jay (RIP) & didn’t really know shit about him. People love to tell stories about partying with him one time in their life & then claim to have been tight with him, those people can eat a giant bowl of dicks, they know nothing about our good friend that passed away on the best surf trip of his life charging massive Mexican beach break & wuz surrounded by friends & loved ones. Those of us that actually knew him knew that he was in a good place in his life. But you always have those bitch made gossipy people that love to talk shit after someone passes, claiming that they knew him bcuz they had one wild night out on the town with him & never saw him again after that, get the fuck outta here with that bullshit, don’t seek some false recognition or watered down fame bcuz you met him once in a party situation. People like that are the lowest of the low, talentless lames that try to get a rep by partying with the people who have actual talent & are well known. Jay (RIP) was in a good place in his life when he passed away, he was happy & stoked on surfing & life in general. You could tell he was mellowing out & enjoying life instead just trying to just get through it. He passed away living life on his terms, he passed away not afraid to die & his religious faith had a lot to do with that. There are many of us that miss him every day not just today. There are many of us that had real life conversations with him & knew him more than just the guy people wanted to party with. To those that thought they knew him bcuz they partied with him & that’s all they can claim of knowing him please crawl back into whatever hole you crawled out of & let those of us that knew him actually celebrate him & remember him as the cool good friend we knew him to be, the real Jay (RIP)
