Local, Feel Good Food

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve had so many amazing times in Canada, whether learning to ski, exploring with friends, or speaking at gatherings like TED and Frontier Summit in Vancouver, C2 in Montreal, or VRTO in Toronto, with friends and collaborators worldwide. My books wouldn’t be the full set of research and stories they are without the Canadian wilderness and layered culture to inspire me. Thank you to the humans who have created a home for me and taught me so much. “We are greater than the sum of our parts,” as Prime Minister Carney spoke today. It’s an urgent time of rediscovery, solidarity, curiosity and care. The journey continues. #canada #canadaday #wonder #wellbeing #mindwise

If you’re new here — welcome to the table. If you’ve celebrated with us before, thank you for being part of our story. It’s an honour to keep serving you.

At Savoury Chef, everything we do starts with connection — to people, to place, and to the food we share. For 20 years, we’ve brought Vancouver together through chef-crafted experiences that go far beyond what’s on the plate.

Inspired by the flavours and landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, our menus celebrate local ingredients, diverse influences, inclusivity, and genuine hospitality. Because to us, it’s not just about the food — it’s about making every guest feel seen, celebrated, and truly welcome.

✨ If that sounds like your kind of celebration, we’d love to cook for you.

What you’re left with after sharing in live events is more than physical, more than the ideas and inspirations. For me, the most meaningful resonance involves emotion and action. It’s how you feel, and how you’re invited to activate. And a community that shares these types of amazing experiences leaves a mark that endures.
when I saw this highlight reel emerge one year after speaking at frontier Summit, it gave me a visceral lift. I am proud and honored to have joined, learned, and delivered a keynote at this incredible gathering, and I’m looking forward to what’s coming in the future. Bravo to everybody who shared this year at this remarkable Summit! What’s inspiring you most right now? How can you envision actions that will result from it? Let’s wonder, dream, and take action.

The final day of #FrontierSummit2024 focused on how we can impact the world and build a brighter future together 🌍

Day 3 unfolded at the iconic @vanaqua in downtown Vancouver. Event artist @leitihsu began with a TED-style talk, “The Art of Instant Connection,” offering insights on reviving events to create meaningful connections.

@tiffanymchiu (@abcellera), Tamer Mohamed (@aspectbiosys), and Thomas Seal (@bloomberg) explored biotech’s future, discussing solutions for well-being in the digital era. @caitlinkrause_ck (@mindwise) followed with an inspiring keynote on how we can be our most creative selves in the Age of AI, touching on embodiment and transformative design.

Later, Elizabeth Scallon (@hp), @nick_rosa_ (@accenture), and Jung Lee (@pioneersquarelabs) discussed how embracing failure drives innovation and challenges the status quo.

@esteelaudercompanies’s Liz Bacelar led a session on using innovation for social good with Emily Hoble, and Barinder Rasode (@tersaearth). In autonomous mobility, Sonia Kandola (@lime) and Jamie Shotton (@wayve_ai) discussed visions for future transport, while @niamh_peren (@foresightinst) moderated a panel on sustainable innovation with Greg Twinney (@generalfusion), Graeme Edge (@energydisruptors), and @fishcountermike (@oceanwise), discussing tech-driven climate solutions.

Attendees then enjoyed hands-on breakout activities after lunch — crafting ceramics at @bahooceramicstudio, building custom ecosystems at @oasisstudio_van, and interacting with sea stars and sea jellies at @vanaqua’s Wet Lab. Out on the Pacific with @mitchs.catch, attendees experienced crabbing just off the sunny, Vancouver shores.

The summit concluded with tapas, paella, cocktails and music, featuring DJ sets by @redshiftcollective’s Andrea Southcott and @dj.yawn, celebrating three days of connections and inspiration.
Thank you to all attendees and sponsors for an amazing year! We can’t wait to connect again soon 🔥

Thank you Vancouver for showing me your brilliance — in your autumn colors and vibrant community at @frontiercollectivebc …
I’m reflecting on so much, including the talks, experiences, and boat trip with @mitchs.catch. What an amazing time learning about the local sustainable fishing industry and practices.
Thank you! Hope to return soon for a reprise.

🍽️ Food is at the heart of connection, and at Frontier Summit, we’re making every meal a memorable experience. 🌿 We’re thrilled to have @mitchs.catch @things_from_gardens @oju.inu creating an immersive, ocean-inspired long table dinner, celebrating the best of the Pacific Ocean. 🌊 Attendees will indulge in sustainable, locally sourced seafood and learn about conservation practices directly from the Founder of the Seafood Program at @oceanwise.
Plus, throughout the 3-day summit, expect culinary delights crafted by various talented chefs, showcasing fresh, nourishing ingredients that speak to the soul. 🍷✨ its not just about the food, but about bringing people together, while breaking bread. 🙌
