The @petersenmuseum’s 4x4 Rally to SEMA started with 27 rigs outside Palm Springs and one goal: get to Las Vegas the hardest way possible. Supported by @optimabatteries and @clariosglobal, last year’s second annual 4x4 Rally to SEMA by @petersenmuseum built on a new tradition of taking real off-road rigs to the industry event through a two-day route from the Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage area to Las Vegas. The lineup looked like an off-road convention: lifted Wranglers and 4Runners, a brand-new Lexus GX still smelling of dealership leather, a steel-wheeled Defender, and, stealing every glance, the Petersen’s own Ford F-150 Prerunner, a sand-devouring missile a guest nicknamed The Bazooka. As pavement turned to dirt on day one, loose gravel shifted under tires, soft sand demanded momentum, and technical climbs required patience, throttle control, and trust in the spotters. By nightfall, the group reached AutoCamp Joshua Tree before dinner at the Snake Bite Roadhouse, where someone took home “The Velociraptor Escape Vehicle” award. Day two brought the pack through deep sand, tight canyon sections, and into Goffs Schoolhouse, a living museum restored by the Mojave Desert Heritage & Cultural Association. From there, the convoy passed the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System, watched civilization reappear on the horizon, and continued into Vegas and on to SEMA. The next day at the show, it was easy to spot the rally crew. They were the ones eyeing the display trucks and whispering, “Could it actually make it?” The Petersen 4x4 Rally didn’t take the easy way to Las Vegas, and that’s exactly the point. Highways get you there, but trails remind you why you went. Avants writer @d9nnyp gives his full account in Issue 24 of Avants Magazine. “Dakar” presented by Atlas | Filmed on Atlas Orion Series 135mm & 200mm 🏁 Watch the full film at the link in our bio. ➡️ ”For Project Dakar, we wanted to create an automotive film/commercial that felt high-end and immersive for the viewer. Combining the Porsche 911 Dakar with epic landscapes in the Mojave, gave us the opportunity to really play around with the Atlas Orion Lenses. The 135mm & 200mm were the perfect tools to capture extreme detail for our exteriors, slow motion, and interior shots that put the viewer right in the action. Even with all the dust, rugged terrain, and generally rough shooting conditions, the lenses took it all with no issues whatsoever. Ultimately, I think we achieved our goal in creating an immersive car film that gets anyone, car enthusiasts or not, excited.” — Mitokino (@mitokino) Director/DP/Producer/Editor/Sound: @mitokino Producer/AD: Aldus @_aldus Associate Producer: Justin Demilio @justindemilio Assistant Editor/BTS: XAMNIL @xamnil 1st AC: Peter Berle @icari200 2nd AC: Justin Demilio @justindemilio Cam Op: Sam Ayvazyan @_virtuemedia Colorist: Ben Cerauli @ben_c1125 Production Assistant: Lily Ocque @lily_ok.tiff Production Assistant: Sidd Bautista @hydrosidd Crafty: Sidd Bautista @hydrosidd Grip/Chase Car Driver: @cs_concierge Hero Car Driver/Owner: @caretakerscollection Special thanks to @tiltamax for lending us their Hydra Alien Pro Car Mounting System 🌟 #FilmedOnAtlas #Porsche #Mojave

This was such a fun drift event! 🤘 We brought our camera car F-150 out to test a few things on the rig. Turns out the truck was definitely too slow to keep up with these cars 😅, but we still came away with some awesome shots... and of course, I had to put together an edit from the night. 🫡 Huge shoutout to @mitokino for being behind the camera and making it happen. 📷 🏁 DRIFT Night @applevalleyspeedway Hosted by @powerslidepat 📅 July 18 Drifting, drift cars, tandem drifting, camera car, rolling shots, cinematography, automotive filmmaking, action sports, motorsports, car culture, video editing, automotive videography, track night, tire smoke, performance cars

After World War I, Mercedes returned to racing with one of the most advanced performance cars of its era: the 1921 Mercedes 28/95 HP Sport. Powered by an engine derived from wartime aircraft technology, the car quickly earned a reputation for speed, endurance, and reliability. Following a second-place finish at the legendary Targa Florio, Mercedes produced a limited run of road-going versions that blurred the line between race car and grand touring machine. Now on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum. “World-Class” is supported by @sonaxusa & @rmsothebys

THE Bullitt Mustang Chassis #558 For decades, #558 was believed lost after being heavily damaged during filming and eventually ending up in a scrapyard in Mexico. Among Bullitt enthusiasts, #558 is arguably the more historically significant car because it is the Mustang that actually performed most of the legendary chase sequence stunts. #mustang #bullitt
