POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

"We have a 2-year-old in a neighbouring apartment. One day, a few months ago, he trudged up the stairs to our place with his father, saw the front door open, and decided to come in to explore. Since this child enjoys exploring the outdoors, we spread a mat on the floor and pulled out our set of Early Bird flashcards to engage him. He was fascinated, and ever since, whenever he visits us, this has become a ritual.

One day, he came up, all excited, to tell us he had seen a cormorant—and yes, he not only recognized and remembered the bird’s name as shown to him on the flashcards but also pronounced it correctly, just as he had been taught! We have been to the terrace a couple of times, and he enjoys sorting through the cards to show us the ones he spots up there. He now has his own set of Early Bird flashcards, and now, just a little shy of 3 years old, he truly is an Early Birder. :)"

That was from @mitsunmehta, one of our educators, sharing how a young child became fascinated with birds.

This #WorldWildlifeDay, what better way to "invest in people and the planet" than by nurturing a love for nature from an early age?

At Early Bird, we offer engaging resources, games, and activities to introduce children to birds. Explore our resources on our website! [LINK IN BIO]
