Flashback to 1976. Disco was hot, music was funky and fashion was the way you expressed yourself. I spent my birthday last Sunday living in the moment, surrounded by my children, friends and loved ones. I brought in 45 with a praise and shout at church that morning and ended the day twirling to the hits of the 70’s at my Studio 54 themed affair. (Thank you, DJ) I was having too much fun to post because sometimes social media can feel like a job and I wasn’t clocking in on my birthday! Thank you to everyone who called, texted, posted, sent cards, gave me gifts, cooked and baked for me. I felt the love. I basked in the warmth of the kindness shown. When I was younger the thought of turning 45 seemed like a lifetime away. I had no idea that time would bring so many hardships and heartbreaks. I never imagined that I’d have to jump so many hurdles and take the “long way” so many times to get to this point. But God! Turns out the scenic route was the best way for me to get here. I saw some beautiful things along the way and arrived just where I needed to be, in my own time. I made it to Studio 45 and it’s right where I want to be. 🥂💜🥳♍️
