Between Streets: The Story of Bonaparte and Lituanica.
Bonaparte was a foolish boy seeking enlightenment. A light that was already within him. A boy with the tools, the knowledge, and the ambition to be great. A boy who flowed effortlessly between moments of weakness and strides of strength. A boy with erratic guidance and foolish decision making.
The foolishness is documented.
As it unfolds, the documentation tries to be less critical and more forgiving. In part, this story is about forgiveness. In other parts, this is a story about love, about money, the lack thereof, self-doubt, distrust, loyalty, egotistical flexing, modest flexing, and most reflectively, lack of consistency.
[We’ve] lied a lot, this is an attempt at the truth.
Lituanica never existed. Nor did Bonaparte. They were both states of mind. But if they did exist, Bonaparte was always on the ground looking up; Lituanica was in the clouds already with her eyes closed. If they did exist, they were in love. They were One.
This story is told in a circle. It starts how it ends. It lives where it dies, with greetings and goodbyes. Between streets, coming and going, celebrating with misery, knowing and simply not knowing. So much change that nothing moves. The Man who helped open the door also helped to close it.
The Concierge stated, “I’ll say it differently, but I’m gonna tell you the same thing: The longest night had two moons. One for both of us. As the day fell, the Sun shined twice as bright. There was enough light to see. There was time for us both to be great. So much to be grateful for. Almost too much. You can’t let this opportunity get away from you. Not this time.”
