See LA make history in 60 seconds! On March 15, 2026, Los Angeles officially recognized International Long Covid Awareness Day for the first time, lighting up City Hall in teal. With an estimated 268K Angelenos living with Long Covid, this was for them. Responding to a question on whether “Long COVlD” should be viewed as mysterious, Elisa Perego PhD, @longcovid_riseup expert who coined the term, opposes classifying the multi-systemic condition as a “Mysterious” cluster of unexplained chronic symptoms and the exclusion of patients with COVlD-induced organ diseases from research. 📍The clip is extrapolated from a larger discussion. Perego was talking generally about a potential, general push, to make LC “mysterious”, including to avoid giving patients expensive care, not necessarily addressing Don Goldberg’s study.
