During the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America National Conference, we had the opportunity to connect with our partners at Hilton Global and celebrate the incredible growth of a partnership that began right here through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami’s School-to-Work program.

What started as a local initiative connecting high school students with workplace mentors and career exploration opportunities has now expanded across the country through a new nationwide partnership between Hilton and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

As part of this commitment, Hilton announced its largest-ever charitable donation, contributing 250 million Hilton Honors Points to BBBSA to create transformative travel experiences for Littles and their families nationwide.

Over the next year, this partnership will create more than 10,000 mentoring moments across six U.S. markets, helping young people build confidence, discover new possibilities, and imagine opportunities they may never have thought possible.

Want to hear a story? OK Cool. So it’s my birthday week and I LOVE this top. It’s from @shopbombchel and my Mom bought for me a few years ago as a birthday gift. I wear it every year. I didn’t plan anything special, because I’m exhausted. As it turns out—I’m loving the quiet bday week. My family had flowers delivered, my friends gave me dope gifts and bday serenades by toddlers (the best!) and today my friend made sure I had cake! I’m REALLY winning in life these days.

BUT. Craziest thing happened—-I’m pulling into my neighborhood tonight, my neighbor is locked out of her house. While we’re waiting for the locksmith, we’re devouring my bday cake.

The locksmith gets here and says “I think I know you. I remember that shirt. I think I took your picture last summer.” 🤯 Come to find out—he DID take a portrait of me last summer dancing with my friends outside of Buteco AND he submitted the photo in his portfolio for his MFA!
If you read this far—-I just wanted to tell you that sometimes, letting go and leaning into the good energy that others have for you—can be a better blessing than anything you could plan. I’m connecting with people who feel like sunshine to me. And in turn, the reward has been ten fold. I’m constantly reminded that the energy you put out—comes back. Shout out to @itsarchel for this amazing top and to the women who hand sewed it. It’s brought me the best of luck and lessons. 🥰 Life is good. And so is my cake. (Shoutout to @realpeterock Thank you for this perfect song)

From Spelman masterclasses with Alicia Graf Mack to AREA’s Revelations excerpts at Elizabeth Baptist, screenings at SCAD FASH, Center for Civil & Human Rights, and Serenbe, plus Dance for Active Aging Adults—we loved every moment of community connection. 💃🖤 #AileyAndAtlanta #DanceForAll #AtlantaArts

{Swipe} May 2025 was full of great forward-moving energy, clarity, & connection. Everything I needed it to be & nothing I could’ve predicted.
Lessons from May 💕:
1. Be mission-aligned with leaders who champion you.
2. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Relax. You might realize that thickness is sitting just right.
3. Take the photos with the kids cause they grow up fast.
4. Allergy meds will not save you. Cats will always win.
5. Love on your people every chance you get.
6. Don’t worry about who doesn’t show up—YOU show up and let the Universe take care of the rest.
7. Being a DopeAuntie is enough. God makes no mistakes.
8. A worthwhile conversation should take place over a good, well seasoned-meal.
9. Use the good sense God gave you. Not everyone is worthy BUT forgiveness really is freedom.

Dearest @metgalaofficial_ ,
On the 1st Monday in May, a house full of us Beautiful Black Women leaders, of all shades, shapes and professions gathered in our good girlfriend @kellyinenglish‘s home to celebrate Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, in celebration of Black Dandyism. We put on our fur, our pearls, our jewels, our satin, our silk, our gold, our diamonds, our luxury labels, our pinstripes, our turbans and our red lips. We draped in vintage frocks from our grandmothers’ closets and labels special ordered just for the occasion.

We channeled our elders and ancestors who held their heads high and looked good doing so. We dined on caviar, charcuterie and champagne and raised our paddles in judgement and in joy to celebrate Black Dandyism and all it’s meant to Our People since 1789. It was grand. Pure joy.

For one night, we weren’t the 92%, named for how we show up for others. That Monday night—We were a small collective of Kelly’s friends who played dress up and cheered on Black Style, Black Icons and Dandyism. We weren’t Mothers, Wives or Partners—-we were a living room full of Happy Black Women cheering and shouting for the best of the best really fly clothes. Thank you Dr. Monica L Miller @metgalaofficial_ @pharrell @lewishamilton @kingofbingo @asaprocky @luxurylaw @metcostumeinstitute and Anna Wintour for giving us one night off from saving the world. 🖤🪡🎩👑💅🏽💋💄
