Dear Summer, we did it again 😤😤😤

This is season 6 so by now this feeling is pretty familiar, but I know I cannot and WILL NOT get comfortable there is still work to be done!! We had a great safe summer yet again. I’m very thankful for the God I serve because without him, none of this is possible. To look back and see how much we’ve grown over these last 6 summers really makes me proud. More than anything, I’m proud to serve my community. I’m grateful that God has blessed me with the ability to pour back into the same community I grew up in. A community that will forever have my heart. ❤️
And none of this happens by myself. To my entire team from my coordinators & sponsors all the way down to my staff, my table girls, vendors, photographers, cleanup crew, spectators, referees, teams and coaches. I appreciate every single last one of y’all. Everybody plays a part. It takes like-minded people who believe in the vision to get the job done, and no matter what comes our way, we get the job done the RIGHT way!
And a special thank you to everyone who continues to support us through every change, adjustment, and growing pain. As we continue to grow, change is inevitable, and I appreciate everyone who trusts the vision, adapts with us, and continues to show up and support what we’re building. Your support never goes unnoticed.
I also want to give a very special thank you to Middy Baraka and Councilman Patrick Council and the City of Newark, the Office of Violence Prevention & Trauma Recovery (OVPTR), and our sponsor, Complex Vision. Year after year, you all continue to show us love, support our vision, and help us with whatever we need to make this happen for our community. That continued love and support means more than you know, and we truly appreciate y’all.
Despite all adversities we are still becoming one of the most talked about summer basketball programs in New Jersey. & all I can say to that is…

See you next year 😈😈
There’s a lot more in store
Season 6 in the books ✌🏼

A trip to @metmuseum to see the Superfine Exhibition was a whole lesson in Black luxury. ✨

Much respect for the curation that celebrated the artistry, history, and flair of Black dandyism. It’s more than fashion, it’s a statement, and seeing its influence laid out from then to now was everything. AND Like, the art was fire, but ya girl really wanted a tee to remember it by aaaannd that wasn’t an option 😭😂 because beech $250 want in the plan…I got some post cards tho. Jokes aside, the celebration of Black fashion and culture was powerful. I am so grateful to have experienced it with my favorite people. @mizzhybrid @janaenicolek

Black dandyism: studied.
The culture: respected.
The merch: non-existent. 😂
The squad: phenomenal.

Who else saw the exhibition?!
