🇧🇷 DAVI CONTRA GOLIAS NO ABSOLUTO! 🔥🥋

🇺🇸 DAVID VS. GOLIATH IN THE ABSOLUTE DIVISION! 🔥🥋

In Jiu-Jitsu, size can make a difference, but it doesn't always determine the outcome!

Facing a much bigger opponent, @mj_jiujitsu stepped onto the mats for a true David vs. Goliath showdown.

According to the athlete, hearing his opponent's coach say, "You'll smash him," before the match was all the motivation he needed! 😂

“STRENGTH WON’T HELP YOU IN JIU-JITSU”

Marcus recently beat an opponent way bigger than him in the absolute at All stars. The biggest factor allowing him to do this is his technical proficiency, without a doubt. But claiming that technique alone will always trump strength and athleticism isn’t true.

Marcus is insanely strong & is consistently lifting every single week, allowing him to actually utilise his skillset in competition. Without this base level of strength, every submission & sweep attempt would take much more effort, gassing him out way earlier.

Technique will always be king, but don’t forget to continually develop your physical qualities.

I went up your @nottinghammma for @intergrapple by @shanecurtisbjj on 26.07.2026 and took a loss to a talented opponent @hxzzabjj.

Firstly, I want to thank God, my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, for guiding me on this grappling journey. Every opportunity, challenge, and blessing has been part of His perfect plan. I trust Him completely and will continue to work hard, giving all the glory to God. ✝️

Secondly I want to thank @jamesnolandiver for coaching me on the day and all the @inspirejiujitsu and @inspire_bjj_northoxford crew for all the tough rounds leading up to the event.

I also want to thank @dominicdidwhat, @alex_milsom and @horwpk for the coming to watch and support along with my mum, all individually helping me.

Thirdly I want to thank my opponent @hxzzabjj and @intergrapple for allowing me to have such a cool fight and experience where I learnt loads! Truly a great event with great people and I can’t wait for my next match against @hxzzabjj!

And finally as always thanks to @bulwark_fightwear to getting me kitted out for my fight, rocking the Deus Vult set! Never forget to use code “Tommy15” at checkout if you wanna look as fire as me. 🔥

And go checkout @strom_sports_nutrition, absolutely bangin ⚡️

Had the pleasure of shooting @jitsproleague. A great event, run smoothly with some exciting matches. 📸

I was impressed by the @nexusbjj team (@bmclaughlin.coach @hxzzabjj @mj_ludlow) who took the overall and cash prize.

Here are a selection of shots during the day.

As always if you are interested in working with myself please reach out via DM.
