Gov. Mike DeWine signed an executive order allowing Class of 2022 athletes at Ohio universities to compete in 2026-27, even if they’ve exhausted their NCAA eligibility. It opens a 5th season and blocks Ohio schools from enforcing the NCAA’s eligibility restrictions. This would leave one of Jerrod Calhoun's and Utah State's leaders last season potentially eligible this season. This would be a huge swing, as all signs were pointing towards MJ being ineligible this season. Nothing is final yet, but this is a huge step in the right direction towards UC retaining a potential starter this season!

UC is officially 1-0 in the Calhoun era! The Bearcats defeated Victoria University in today's Baha Mar Hoops game 110-63. The team showed its depth and willingness to share the rock, as seven players scored double-digit points today. MJ Collins led the team with points dropping 15, Adam Elamin led with 8 rebounds, and Akai Fleming had 8 assists. The team also performed extremely well on the defensive end, only allowing 63 points while nabbing 20 steals and 7 blocks. Lastly, they shot 52% from the field, 29% from 3, and 63% from the charity stripe. Overall, a great start for what undoubtedly will be an exciting team throughout the season.
