DAY 1. πŸ€πŸ”₯ SKILLS (Sept . 15, 2026) Most of these kids came in timid. They didn’t know what to expect. Some were literally learning from scratch. Too shy. Too scared. Some even told their parents they weren’t sure if they’d like basketballβ€”or if they’d even be able to play in the House League games. But today, they all came back. ❀️ And a few more joined us, too. For beginners, joining a group skills program can be intimidating. A β€œone-size-fits-all” approach doesn’t always work when some kids are already advanced. We heard from a few who felt embarrassed during free play because the other kids could already dribble, shoot and score. And this is exactly why Forge was created. From the very beginning, our mission has been to create a space where kids can learn without feeling pressured, embarrassed or left behind. A space where beginners can start at their own pace, build confidence, make mistakes, have funβ€”and eventually discover that they can play. Thank you to all the parents for trusting us with your kids. 🫢 We’re so proud of our Spark Starters and Flame Igniters, and we can’t wait to see them take the court for their House League games in just 2 weeks! πŸ”₯πŸ€ Everyone starts somewhere. This is where they start. Shoutout to our Youth Volunteer Coach Jaden for giving personalized training.. Seeing Sumiya learning at the first few minutes, he gave her more focused coaching and see how she was doing at the end of the session. πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ» #ForgingGreatness #ForgeBasketball #YouthDevelopment #BasketballTraining #Durham
