I loved watching Sense & Sensibility at the cinema last night, so much that I found myself reaching for Austen again today. Great coffee, a great novel and a very cosy afternoon spent revisiting an old favourite ☕️📖

And yes, be nice to your local baristas & they’ll humour you with extra fun coffee art!

Lately, some cafés have really been shocking me🙃🍵 The last time was in Bournemouth, when I had a matcha latte that tasted like chai latte… which was already traumatising enough. And now in Bath, I’ve had another one that was basically chai latte pretending to be matcha latte 🥲 Even my friend said her latte had a bit of a chai flavour too. Is this some kind of recent trend in the UK? 🫢🫢🍵

The Danish breakfast plate from @mjolk.cafe 🇩🇰
▪️
Perfect if you’re looking for a light breakfast, this plate comes with sourdough, whipped butter, raspberry jam, thin slices of @bathsoftcheese Wyfe of Bath cheese, and a soft boiled egg.
▪️
The cafe is ideally located right by the entrance to Bath Abbey, with lovely views if you choose to eat outside.
▪️
Just a heads up - the egg is served cold, so something to bear in mind if you’re not a fan of a cold egg! 🍳

My camera roll lately has been full of art, beach visits, lots of coffee, slow reading and train journeys. Alongside my August book club reads, I’ve also been reading Flesh by David Szalay and revisiting some poetry.
