We've been in Boulder just over 2 months, and we've barely scratched the surface exploring all it has to offer. Unpacking, wildfire mitigation, and getting settled took precedence over fun. But now, while @mjthor sets off on another adventure of a lifetime, I'm making silly little videos to inspire me to spend these next few weeks having adventures of my own.

Well folks. I’ve had a week to reflect on my trip to Stillwater Oklahoma for the 300 mile Mega Midsouth. Im really happy with how the ride went and super grateful to have shared some miles with old and new pals alike. I hardly touched the bike leading up to the ride as I only have so many miles in the legs annually and I’d arguably rather be well rested then overtrained. I have a deep well of fitness to pull from and other then my hamstrings being super tight all week I’ve recovered fairly well. Thanks to the @midsouthgravel family for putting on such a banger of an event and for the generosity of friends who I stayed with in Stillwater. I’ll definitely be back.

The big O

When I got offered a job in the Midwest, I had few expectations. I was fresh out of school and ready to start something new. Omaha is one of those places that sneaks up on you — there are some appeals right away, but it’s the little things that start to add up when you put in the effort to find them.

The people I met here will always be the best part. I’ve made some of my best memories with you. You guys welcomed me into a community that I could look forward and one that I won’t forget.

On to new & exciting things to explore in NC, but I won’t forget the big O

I started dreaming about the Tour Divide back in 2017, while biking with @elirainphoto and @trackerseye from South America as part of @_mundopequeno . It took a few years for all the pieces to fall into place, but the dream came true. I 'speed toured' the divide in 22 days 13 hours and 45 minutes.

I'm still processing just how beautiful an experience this was and I get emotional thinking about how I wish everyone could experience this kind of adventure.

It's hard to explain how something like this (at least for me) distills things down to a more simple, raw, honest, present, and humble existence. I talked to others on the ride about how it almost became difficult to relate to people who weren't riding with us... an odd feeling that persists (and I'm sure will continue to) weeks after arriving in Antelope Wells, NM. You want to share what you're experiencing with people you meet, with your family and friends, etc... but the people you share the road/trail/campsite/gas station resupply with... they're really who know what it's like and just how hard, humbling, beautiful, unique, and special it all is.

Thanks to everyone I met along the way. I miss you and I hope our paths cross again. Thanks to family and friends for the encouragement and for being so excited for me - it's a humbling feeling to receive all that love.

If you've ever considered doing something like this, don't think too hard... save the money, find the time, make the plan. Life's too short not to.

Day one of the Tour Divide was probably the most challenging and unforgettable day of my life. Almost a year of preparation leading up to this day that felt so terrifying and so exciting. I really had no idea what to expect. I would meet a core group of friends that shaped the rest of this journey into something so much more special and meaningful than I could have imagined. Thank you guys.
Physically and emotionally over the course of my 12 days on the divide, I hit the bottom a number of times. Each time seemingly deeper than the last, but every valley had its peak and man were those peaks somethin special. I feel extreme gratitude for what I was lucky enough and privileged enough to experience. It’s truly hard to sum up and put into words.
Although this adventure was shorter than planned it doesn’t make it any less special and who knows, maybe it’s not the last time I get to experience it ;)
I will certainly share more as i process everything but for now, here is a little something to enjoy. Thank you to everyone that was a part of this, big or small. It all matters 💕

More Tour Divide love!!!

This year's Tour has been an absolute whirlwind and it really does show what some weather can do. The first week I replaced only tires, once all that rain and snow hit is when the drivetrains and brake pads get taken out.
.
Not just the leaders are fast this year though, it seems as though everyone is still riding that Tour Divide high and are carrying it with them all the way down (or up) to the border.
.
Unfortunate news on the bottom end of the course though as a wildfire has caused a pretty big reroute, it looks like the leader @robingemperle is about halfway through that as I type this.
