Atlanta, you met me where I was and helped me rise.

You taught me how to stand on my own, trust my timing, and become who I needed to be.

I didn’t leave the same woman who arrived.

Grateful for the lessons, the growth, the stretch.
Honoring this chapter with love…

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of my journey.

and stepping into the next one grounded, clear, and ready. ✨

Miebaka Kalama (@mkalama) discusses why he chose to pursue a career in healthcare and what kept him going after losing both of his parents. In high spirits, he posed while holding his graduation cap to display photos of his parents. He graduated last month with a Master of Science in Healthcare Management with a concentration in Quality Management and Patient Satisfaction from Stevenson University. He had also previously Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with focuses in Biology and Human Services from Stevenson University. He was able to secure a position as Public Health Advisor upon graduating. •

• “I always knew I wanted to work in the healthcare field, and I swore I had it all figured out that I was going to be a pharmacist, but having parents that both passed away in healthcare facilities made me realize that dedicated healthcare managers can also provide favorable outcomes for patients as well as their communities.
Through it all what kept me going is prayer, a very strong support system knowing that at the end I’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor and make myself and my parents happy knowing that I’m impacting people’s lives daily. My advice to anyone trying to do grad school is to set your own boundaries and take care of yourself because it can be very trying and stressful at times and you have to be the best version of yourself in order to prosper.”
