POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

After what felt like five million attempts at filming this Reel, I finally got one under two minutes & with no tears from me! 🎉🥳💃 My apologies for the super speed, it was the only way to get a video that wasn’t too long. Goodness, I am far too talkative, forgetful & emotional to film quick Reels. 😆🫠
Anyway…this is what I do when I find Pride items hidden or covered, in case anyone was curious.

MAKING MOVES
📍 Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Milwaukee is making moves with its ‘Paint the Pavement’ program! 🎉

Residents and community groups can now turn crosswalks, sidewalks, intersections, and curb extensions into colorful canvases. No fee—just a permit and your artistic vision.

The city has closed two slip lanes at Lapham Blvd & Cesar Chavez Dr and Highland Blvd & 27th St, inviting local artists and neighborhood organizations to unleash their creativity. These former right-turn cutouts are now vibrant murals, creating a whole new vibe! With partners like LUNA LLC, Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers, and Near West Side Partners, this vision has come to life. 🌟

This Saturday, check out the creative crosswalks getting installed along N. 40th Street from Galena to Robert St., brought to life by Rooted & Rising, AWE (Artists Working in Education), and enthusiastic volunteers. If you’re in Milwaukee, don’t miss it! 🎨

And don’t forget the stunning rainbow crosswalks at N. Jefferson & E. Wells Streets. Part of the Paint the Pavement program, these colorful paths were reinstalled by Milwaukee Pride to honor the first Milwaukee Pride March’s endpoint at Cathedral Square Park on June 17, 1989. 🌈

Let’s be honest, who knows the streets better than the community itself? When neighbors lead the charge, the result is more than just safer streets—it’s streets that truly feel like their own. Here’s to making moves and painting the pavement! 🖌️
