DAY 12: Everyone Changes And Everything Dies

Our final show of the tour was at AS220's Black Box in Providence, a venue I'd played before & of which I have fond memories. My set was very different from the last time I was in this space. Much has changed since then. PALE SPECTATOR opened with a mist of modular textures set to a slideshow. INTERBRUTIAL CREASE generated harsh sounds with heavily treated vox. My SCROTAL TEAR set pared the layers back more during my vocal interludes than on previous stops of the tour, giving the words room to breathe. DISTORTING A WOODPECKER had a nice noisy set, anarchic and relatively different from our other dates. VITROPSY played a short & nasty goregrind set. BEAUTIFUL PIGS ended the night with a set of experimental free jazz. We then drove home, discussing our favorite cities from the tour, the highs & lows of the last two weeks, and plans for the future... further reflections are marinating for another post. For now, I am extremely grateful to have gone on this journey with Erik and had the chance to share my sounds & experiences with so many new audiences.

New dates have been added and you can find every flyer for the tour here! I’m very happy to have Greenville, South Carolina added to the tour. The new dates for Asheville, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia are at the same venues with mostly the same lineups!

Rehearsals wrap up today and then I’ll see y’all on the road very soon.

Unrelated, but Every Time I Die has always been a huge inspiration to me, not just musically, but in their mindset and approach to touring. Every show or tour I’ve done has been influenced by how ETID would approach their own shows and tours. I still wish I was able to have half as much stage presence as them, and hopefully one day I’ll play Buffalo in honor of ETID. RIP Andy Williams, Every Time I Die forever.
