Repost from @mlgardenmaintenance

Hey, Lake Oswego, Oregon - Bring back the rakes! Human powered landscaping is a great way to get exercise, keep neighborhoods quiet, and avoid air pollution from fumes and aerosolizing dust and debris.

If many cases, it’s good to leave the leaves on the landscape. Manual tools such as rakes, garden brooms and manual plush sweepers work well to move leaves off hardscape or into garden beds or compost piles.

If a power assist is needed, please choose electric leaf blowers or leaf vacuums over excessively and highly polluting gas leaf blowers. (And please be mindful when using an electric leaf blower).

☀️ The UK heatwave is here, and while keeping pitches looking their best is a priority, looking after yourself should always come first.

To all groundsmen and sports turf professionals working long hours in the sun:

💧 Stay hydrated throughout the day
🌳 Take regular breaks in the shade
🧢 Wear appropriate sun protection
👀 Keep an eye out for signs of heat exhaustion

At Bowcom, we’re proud to support the industry with our line marking products, helping create bright, professional pitch markings whatever the conditions. But no line is more important than the one between working hard and staying safe.

Take care of yourselves, your teams, and your playing surfaces this summer ❤️
