Another season of Sioux Falls Power AAA hockey is underway, and year 12 of being a billet family is officially rolling!

Excited to introduce the two newest additions to our home for the 2026-2027 season, both suiting up for the Sioux Falls Power Tier 1 AAA 18U team:

Adrian Afrakov (pictured in the white shirt up top) comes to Sioux Falls from Bellevue, Washington. He is the son of Denis and Anastasia Afrakov. We are thrilled to welcome Adrian to the mix and have him settling into school and life here in town.

Brennan Lierman (with the dark brown hair next to his mom, Megan) joins us from Eagle River, Alaska. He is the son of Bill and Megan Lierman. The Lierman family connection runs deep in our house after previously hosting his older brother Liam, so having Brennan here feels like family picking up right where we left off.

Hosting these dedicated players and giving them a supportive home away from home while they chase their hockey goals is something we truly love doing every single year. Looking forward to watching them compete, grow, and make big things happen on the ice this winter.

Welcome to Sioux Falls, boys! Let’s have a great season.

✨ Happy 24-Year SALTiversary, Megan! ✨

Twenty-four years at SALT?! Now that is what we call some serious longevity — especially considering Megan has only worked at one other place since graduating college. OG SALTine status: fully confirmed.

As one of our owners and Design Principals, Megan has helped shape SALT in countless ways over the years. She’s our FF+E and healthcare maven, a trusted leader, a seasoned design pro, and now she’s brought even more depth to our offerings by becoming one of only six Certified Grant Writers in the entire state of Alaska.

Megan has a true gift for research and technical writing, and it has been so wonderful to watch her pursue this passion at SALT while continuing to manage design projects with the same talent and dedication she’s brought to the team for years.

When she’s not in the office, you might find Megan curled up with a good book and a glass of her favorite gin, searching for sea glass on a remote beach during her worldly travels, or cheering on her boys at the rink or on the baseball diamond.

Megan, you are one of a kind, and we are so thankful for your leadership, creativity, knowledge, humor, and heart. Congratulations on 24 incredible years at SALT. We celebrate you today and are so grateful for all you’ve poured into this team and this company.

Happy SALTiversary! 💛🌊📚✨

✨ Getting to Know the SALTines: Megan ✨

This month we’re featuring Megan Lierman—SALT owner, Design Principal, research queen, beachcomber, book lover, traveler, and official OG SALTine after 24 years with the team.

Megan loves the relationships built along the way—with clients, consultants, and contractors—and there’s nothing quite like walking through a finished space that once started as just a tiny spark of an idea.

Her superpower? Research. Megan can find information on almost anything, which makes perfect sense given her gift for technical writing, design problem-solving, and her newest credential as a Certified Grant Writer.

Outside of work, Megan is happiest reading, traveling, beachcombing, spending time on the boat, cheering on her boys, or dreaming up the next adventure—Croatia, Iceland, Antarctica, Machu Picchu, Namibia…the list is long. 🌊📚✈️

👉 Swipe through to get to know Megan a little better, including her dream job, favorite local spots, go-to coffee order, and one very memorable SALT story involving a meeting, contractions, and a quick trip downstairs to Labor & Delivery.

Before the meetings, the workshops, the design projects, the grant writing, the data wrangling, and the invoices… there were these tiny humans ✨

We had a feeling our team’s talents showed up early, so we dug into the SALT Mine archives for childhood photos with their very grown-up SALTine roles—and honestly, the evidence speaks for itself 😄

Question for the group: is it too much to make these our official email signatures, or is it actually genius? 😂
