![Last november we were invited to conduct a workshop with the graduating student of DSAA Image¹ at École Duperré. The course was built around our on-going research on small-scales. The student were encouraged to forsee the possibilities of scale changing and its scenographic prospects. During this one week program, they had to imagine in a 1:10 scale, the living space of an eccentric dog obsessed collector who lived in an housing unit of Le Corbusier’s Cité Radieuse.
« Matching your dog to your interior is an unconscious practice of taste. But Miss Grey, who everyone knows adored her dogs more than anything, accommodated her interior to their well-being.
Miss Grey, dog fetish, was around dogs with lean figures and pointy ears. Her first was a miniature pinscher, but she rapidly accumulated several types of greyhounds. She always had no less than five dogs by her side, sometimes more. After all, Marseille is the perfect environment for an animal sensitive to the cold and with a natural instinct for chasing seagulls.
Her dogs were, of course, never objectified; she loved them more than most humans of her entourage. However, the animals gave the impression of being staged, laying around like statues on the furniture as their pedestal. “Let sleeping dogs lie”, she would always say, and it was as if Mrs. Grey’s hounds had understood the assignment.

Her eye for figurative sculpture and paintings inspired artists towards a new movement: Dogmarism. More than its representation, dogs became the subject in many mediums »
