I almost didn’t go.
The drive was long. The desert heat was no joke. And if I’m honest... I just didn’t feel ready.

Thankfully, God had other plans.
My friend and mentor @mlsdancingthrulife , believed in me on a day when I wasn’t fully believing in myself. She encouraged me to go anyway, and I’m so glad I listened.

What I’ll remember most isn’t the competition.
It’s the people who made it possible.
My daughter, @gabcurrent who prayed over me and captured these memories. My coach, @slickygreygod who continues to challenge and believe in me. Marilyn, who kept me on schedule, helped me get competition-ready, and somehow captured every little moment along the way.
No one accomplishes anything meaningful alone, and I’m so grateful for the people God has placed in my life.
I’m coming home with something far more valuable than photos... memories I almost missed.

Grateful for every divine appointment that led me to blessings I almost talked myself out of.
My wish for you is the same: don’t let fear talk you out of what God has for you. You never know what beautiful memories are waiting on the other side of your yes. 🤍

My daughters weren’t allowed to buy me gifts when they were little.

Instead, they had to make them.
A song. A portrait. A necklace made of dried pasta. A video like this one.

At the time, I wasn’t trying to teach some profound life lesson. I simply wanted them to know that what comes from the heart is often more valuable than what comes from a store.

Years later, those handmade gifts have become some of my greatest treasures.
Watching this video reminded me that every child is born with unique gifts, talents, and ways of seeing the world. When we encourage those gifts, something beautiful happens—they begin to grow into who God made them to be.
Looking back, I’m grateful I invested more in their creativity than in the gifts themselves.

One day, those gifts may bless far more people than you ever imagined.🤩

And to my girls, Gabby and Niki, I don’t know how you managed to turn 150+ photos and video clips into something that made me laugh, cry and relive the evening all over again. Between the cake, the memories and this video you’ve given me a gift I’ll treasure forever.💜

This birthday felt extra special.
The greatest gift wasn’t the celebration—it was having the health and strength to be back on the dance floor doing what I love.

Thank you to everyone who joined me at Cicada and to everyone who sent birthday wishes, texts, calls, and messages. I felt so loved and appreciated.
Good health, great friends, and shared memories are true wealth.

My wish for you is that you never take those gifts for granted. Life moves quickly—so do what you love, spend time with the people who matter, and make every season count.
