💜 Men’s Mental Health Monday | Domestic Violence Awareness Month

True strength is not about hiding your struggles or controlling others. It’s about having the courage to speak up, seek support, manage your emotions, and take accountability for your actions.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let’s challenge harmful expectations of masculinity and create a culture where men feel safe to talk about their mental health, while recognizing that mental health struggles never excuse abuse. Healthy masculinity means choosing respect over control, communication over violence, and accountability over excuses.

🏆Real men rise by lifting others. Choose equality. Choose healing. Choose growth.

The event brings together historians, organizers, and writers to explore the intersections of Black migration, racial justice, workers rights, and democracy! Men’s Mental Health Monday | Domestic Violence Awareness Month

“Circumstances do not make a person; they reveal them.” — Wayne Dyer

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we recognize that men’s mental health matters, too.

Men deserve safe spaces to express their emotions, seek support, and navigate life’s challenges without fear of judgment. Encouraging healthy masculinity means creating a culture where vulnerability is strength, asking for help is courage, and accountability is part of growth.

We must also recognize that domestic violence affects people of all genders. Promoting mental well-being, respect, emotional awareness, and healthy relationships is essential to breaking cycles of violence and building safer communities.
Let’s challenge the stigma, encourage open conversations, and remind men that seeking help is a sign of strength—not weakness.

This Monday, let’s choose compassion, healing, and accountability.

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉

They've given their time, their talent, and their resources toward a powerful vision: a Minnesota where women, girls, and gender-expansive people thrive. Their leadership was instrumental in the success of the Young Women's Initiative of Minnesota, a program celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

Introducing the 2026 Mary Lee Dayton Catalyst for Change Award recipients: Julie Corty and Lulete Mola. Julie's more than 30 years of service, from the WFM board to her work creating the Madada Fund, shows what lasting commitment to a community looks like. Lulete's work as a community organizer since age 15, and as co-founder of the @mnblackcf, shows what's possible when communities lead the way.

Together, they've strengthened WFM's values, impact, and culture, and inspired so many others to give and lead. On October 8, we'll honor them in person at our Leadership Celebration, and celebrate 10 years of YWI together. What a gift. Learn more about them at https://bit.ly/wfmmld26?utm_campaign=coschedule&utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=womensfndnmn

Thank you to @bestbuy for sponsoring this year's Leadership Celebration.

Men’s Mental Health Monday | Domestic Violence Awareness Month

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we’re having an important conversation about men’s mental health, healthy masculinity, and the role men can play in ending domestic violence.

Men are often taught to be strong, stay silent, and handle everything on their own. But true strength also means being able to talk about what you’re going through, seek support, manage emotions in healthy ways, and take accountability for your actions.

Healthy masculinity is not about control or violence. It is about respect, compassion, communication, and accountability.

This Men’s Mental Health Monday, let’s remind men: you don’t have to struggle in silence. Your mental health matters, and your choices can help create safer communities.
