Bon bah voilà. Que dire à part qu'il n'y a pas assez d'images pour tout dire. Ne serait-ce que parce que j'ai dû casser deux téléphones en route et donc perdre pas mal de vidéos, j'ai fait mon possible pour essayer de restituer une année qui ne se restitue pas. De l'amour qui ne se contient pas. J'ai pleuré mille fois sur Douce, surtout chantée par Shirley, j'ai ri mille fois avec Paulo, discuter sans fin avec Nath, chanter sans limite avec ma famille de cœur, Black & Debby, rencontrer tant de personnes magiques au Barlone, Pascal, Damir, Cindy, Eddy, Sylvain, Hakim, Carmina, je ne peux pas les dire toutes ici. J'ai été près de ma famille, en Bretagne, j'ai senti le sable sous mes pieds et la mer autour de mon cœur. Le sel sur mes paupières. Je n'ai pas assez de vidéos d'Alison, ça je le dis car elle manque dans ce "reel" vraiment. Tant de personnes manquent, je ne peux pas tout dire de 2024, je ne peux pas y loger dans cette vidéo toutes celles et ceux qui ont compté, mais ce n'est pas très grave car ce n'est pas comme ça qu'on fait ou qu'on témoigne de son amour. Une vidéo, c'est juste un aperçu, idéalisé ou insuffisant, les deux, c'est un extrait, une fiction de quelque chose de vécu, avec quelque part du réel. Une maman qui n'est jamais loin, et que j'aime jusqu'à l'infini, des ami.e.s., un bar un refuge un nouveau travail, plein de cabaret et de karaoké, un ami qui compte plus mais plus que tout et qui a réparé des blessures en jouant du piano, des rencontres, des interviews, des sensibilités et singularités, des voyages à nouveau, la Finlande, Londres, la Belgique, Amiens, Nice, Amiens, Douarnenez, j'en passe, de l'amour, des chansons beaucoup, des premiers cabarets, des envies d'émouvoir, des envies de partager, de faire voyager le film, mon premier court métrage encore et encore. Un souhait, celui de continuer mon cinéma, quoiqu'il en coûte. De dire à Black et Debby merci encore, qui rien qu'à vous écouter vous font sentir l'effet rassurant d'un grand câlin. Bisou à Quentin. À Ricky et Orlando. À Ernest 💔 Et À la D.R.A.G. À Sandra. Eve. Clara. Anouar. À Vaslav, Clara Ysé, Beyoncé. À Marie. À Violaine. À tant.

Still jetlagged and getting over the altitude sickness, but it feels like I spent the last week in filmmaker Disneyland, somewhere I could randomly get into a deep cinephile rabbit hole with anyone I met out and about in the beautiful Park City streets, and also share real filmmaker stories and experience without egos getting involved.

@slamdancegroup is a genuinely special festival that champions truly independent and original films, and their level of support makes even an award ceremony into a community event and emotional time for healing and catharsis. I felt so lucky to be a part of it, and to have met so many amazing down to earth renegade filmmakers there.
From industry panels to mixers, snowy hot tubs to fire pits, the main advice that resonated were to build a filmmaking family full of like minded people, push for authenticity and positive change in the industry, and never stop fighting to get my stories made on my terms. 2024 is starting off STRONG!

Do you remember the end of summer 2007?

Warm sun, scraped knees, melting popsicles, school just around the corner…

I am hoping to bring us back to the good ole days with my London Film School graduation film:

𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 (@girlstogether_shortfilm)

𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 is a coming of age story focused on the friendship between three 14-year-olds Rena, Zep, and Lauren. Every summer they build a tree fort in the woods with old forgotten furniture and spend their time making up adventures. But this summer, Rena’s been keeping a secret.

What starts off as a normal day, turns into one last adventure for the girls and a little red fox🦊.

As I searched for my childhood adventures in film, I found that on-screen outdoor girlhood was intertwined with losing your virginity, bra size comparison, and what makes a ‘cool girl’. Spoiler, I was not a cool girl.

This film is a love letter to all my childhood friends I was ‘Girls Together’ with and the culmination of two hard years of work at the @thelondonfilmschool
