*INTRODUCING MODUPE REIS*
-
▪WHAT ARE YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR?
I'm currently running a small-scale food business for West-African inspired dishes called Mo’Bites. I have also published my poetry in the past to raise money for Lupus UK and Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. - ▪HAVE YOU EVRR DONE/DO YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING SOCIETY SAID YOU CAN'T?
As a black woman, there are a multitude of things that society tells me I cannot do…I’m not listening. - ▪WHAT HAVE BEEN THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES YOU'VE FACED AS A BAME WOMAN?
I haven’t faced anything wildly different from the (unfortunate) ‘norm’ of gender and racial discrimination. It does get a little bit tiring having to constantly prove my capabilities and my intellect. -
▪WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT BEING A BAME WOMAN?
Three words: BLACK. GIRL. MAGIC.

LAUNCHING TOMORROW!
Introducing the #i'mPOSSIBLE campaign. We are approaching International Women's Day, a day where women all around the globe are celebrated for their achievements amid gender inequalities and abuse. But, we often dont talk about the intersectional oppression of BAME women. Those who carry the "double burden" of their race and gender.
Society often reminds us of the things which it regards as "impossible" for the BAME woman. However, the RHUL BAME women featured in this campaign are proving the possibilities of moving beyond the barriers of race and gender!
BAME? FEMALE? SUCCESFUL?...#i'mPOSSIBLE
